Snowden - “All I can say right now is the US Government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me. Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped.”

I’m no Twitter-Wiz but it looks like we have lots of Questions and, so far, no Answers. 9 minutes late as I type this.

Eddie be thinking outside the MSM box.

Exposing yourself to questions from an internet forum is much smarter than to sit down with some MSM dingbat like Barbara Walters, Larry King, Piers Morgan, Diane Sawyer, Sean Hannity, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer,.................

This internet thingy could become a powerful medium, if people would wake up and turn off CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Channel which is the official channel of Big Brother.

Q - Did you lie about your salary? What is the issue there? Why did you tell Glenn Greenwald that your salary was $200,000 a year, when it was only $122,000 (according to the firm that fired you.)

“I was debriefed by Glenn and his peers over a number of days, and not all of those conversations were recorded. The statement I made about earnings was that $200,000 was my “career high” salary. I had to take pay cuts in the course of pursuing specific work. Booz was not the most I’ve been paid.”

I’m confused - How do we know this is him - this seems dumb.

You have to accept that the Guardian wouldn't participate in an interview with an imposter.

Snowden will already have had experience in identification protocols. You can be sure he has established a process for the Guardian to confirm his identity.

I hope he knows something about what really happened to Breitbart, too.

Many have made that the foundation of their opinion — “he lied about his salary, which means we can’t trust him on anything!” That’s going to undercut that foundation pretty completely; the rebuttal that Greenwald couldn’t have made a mistake is far less likely.

1) More detail on how direct NSA’s accesses are is coming, but in general, the reality is this: if an NSA, FBI, CIA, DIA, etc analyst has access to query raw SIGINT databases, they can enter and get results for anything they want. Phone number, email, user id, cell phone handset id (IMEI), and so on - it’s all the same. The restrictions against this are policy based, not technically based, and can change at any time. Additionally, audits are cursory, incomplete, and easily fooled by fake justifications. For at least GCHQ, the number of audited queries is only 5% of those performed.

2) NSA likes to use “domestic” as a weasel word here for a number of reasons. The reality is that due to the FISA Amendments Act and its section 702 authorities, Americans’ communications are collected and viewed on a daily basis on the certification of an analyst rather than a warrant. They excuse this as “incidental” collection, but at the end of the day, someone at NSA still has the content of your communications. Even in the event of “warranted” intercept, it’s important to understand the intelligence community doesn’t always deal with what you would consider a “real” warrant like a Police department would have to, the “warrant” is more of a templated form they fill out and send to a reliable judge with a rubber stamp.

I’m unclear about why he is taking so long to dump it all.

I had to take pay cuts in the course of pursuing specific work. Booz was not the most I've been paid.

Booz Allen is evidently a NSA sweatshop that paid him 78k less that he made elsewhere. Booz Allen the Walmart of defense contractors.

Unfortunately, shortly after assuming power, he closed the door on investigating systemic violations of law, deepened and expanded several abusive programs, and refused to spend the political capital to end the kind of human rights violations like we see in Guantanamo, where men still sit without charge.

Assuming power, cool phrase, Eddie.

The restrictions against this are policy based, not technically based, and can change at any time. Additionally, audits are cursory, ,

Translation, IT guys can get around the empty suits guys who think that they are in charge.

You don't.

Personally, I trust a British newspaper more than ANY DOMESTIC MSM outlet.

If you want to know the truth, British journalists are more reliable.

Ambrose Evans-Pritchards of the Telegraph told more truths about the Clinton crime family than you will ever find from domestic MSM.

Maybe he wants all of it looked at. If it all comes out, some points will be overlooked as less important.

Him starting out with 2009 G20 made me think he’s going to go by date, not shock, order.

Americans have short memories. Its better to slowly leak stuff to keep the pressure on and expose the government’s lies.

Plus his safety is not guaranteed. There is no reason to use up all his ammo yet. Better to aim carefully and keep landing direct hits.

Notice how Sarah Palin always gets attention when she snipes on Facebook and twitter but the content of her speeches is ignored by the press.

Snowden knows what he is doing and he has been very effective at getting attention. The former NSA whistleblower Binny(sp?) was ignored
