LINDSEY GRAHAM: Republicans Are In A 'Demographic Death Spiral,'
Business Insider ^ | 06/16/2013 | Brett Logiurato

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is bullish about the chances of an immigration reform bill passing the Senate — and he says Republicans need to pass it to avoid falling further into a "demographic death spiral" that could hurt their chances in the next two big election cycles.

"If we don't pass immigration reform, if we don't get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn't matter who you run in 2016," Graham said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday.

How, perzactly, could a dope-smoking liberarian be worse than what already is rampant in the Congress?

A dope smoking libertarian might sleep in and miss a vote.

Nah. It avoids threads where it would be whipped to creamy froth before it got out of the starting gate.

I did not ask you who I should vote for. I asked what conservative ideas are currently coming from the house and senate? I await your wise response.

There are numerous good ideas, mostly they get shot down by Ried et al in the senate. In the house there are also conservatives who espouse good points and bills, but they don't make the 5 oclock news or front page because they are not what the DBM wishes for voters to see.

Down ballot, there are also a whole host of ideas and idea presenters that are worth supporting to advance the conservative agenda.

My initial response to you was to your declaration that people would simply choose not to vote.

If you really operate that way, there is really nothing more needs be said, is there?

LOL.

Vote for anyone you wish, but dammit! Get out there and vote, at least down ticket. Your vote counts because then you are a "voter" and not a sitter outer.

Regards the librarian, they might forget what it was they were talking about, and just go have a doughnut.

Yep. I used to give my vote away. But no more. I will vote for any credible
Tea Party candidate for congress, the senate or the Presidency. But
Romney was the last Rino vote I will ever cast. And I am sure many
feel the same way.

Can’t figure out why the GOP can’t make the case that amnesty isn’t good for any American whatever their ancestry"

Fear of being called racists. They're a bunch of lily-livered quislings.

Plus, they just don't care. They'll be safe and cozy in their gated communities with their primo health care plans....it's only the unwashed who'll have to deal with the fallout.

The rationalization Republicans use to justify Amnesty is the need to fill the demographic hole of young workers needed to pay baby boomer social security payments to prevent collapse of the system

This if course flies in the face of the uncontested fact that the first thing illegals do when they hit this country is to have a taxpayer funded anchor baby so they can load up on social service and welfare benefits, often under multiple illegal identities(that's the reason the California Assembly made it illegal to finger print welfare recipients to spot fraud ) which is only going to add to our social security burden and crash the system faster.

One of Amnesty's major provision is that newly amnestied illegals are a new protected and privileged class who are fully eligible for welfare and free health care, which legal immigrants are not eligible for and are barred from by the way

Its hard to see how millions of non assimilated, uneducated, illiterate people who do speak English and refuse to learn to speak our language are going to be an economic asset to our country in a high tech economy that requires serious education and technical skills.

One of the Democrat Party and Jerry Brown's big philosophical arguments is that we need more welfare to support all of the workers who are being displaced by high tech and automation.

If the displacement of educated, highly skilled American workers due to automation and technology is such a huge problem in the US and is causing so much unemployment, why are we importing millions of illegals who don't have any future in our new economy because they lack the basic education and skill sets to even break into the jobs market .

So the reason for the inexplicable momentum for the unstoppable train of Amnesty is not clear because it is on obvious train wreck that will cause serious problems for the country if passed

My beloved old Grand Dad was in the wholesale liquor business in Chicago during the 1920s and early 30s and who was also the bag man who delivered brown bags and envelopes full of money to judges, politicians, police chiefs and reporters during prohibition.

He always told me that when you see government officials and other people in power doing things that go against the law or ignore blatant criminal acts and corruption, and things are crazy and simply make no sense then there is a good chance people at the top are being bribed, threatened or blackmailed .

Its the Chicago Way

The blessed prospect of Senator Trey Gowdy R-SC turning Flimsey Tinkerbelle out to pasture is the only thing that keeps this South Carolinian from waking up screaming.

Trey Gowdy on TV is the Swamp Fox tieing the Redcoats in knots.

Why are there so few viable conservative candidates in a state full of conservatives?

I really wish someone would confront Lindsay and other pro amnesty Republicans with the fact that the driving force behind Hispanic support for Obama in 2012 was their support for Obamacare, not amnesty.

The tipping point has been passed. The takers are going, in the next couple decades, bleed the producers dry.

I have absolutely no problem with that. Just saying that sitting it out is not fruitful.

Every time I hear “fear of being called racists” I think of “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me”.

what gutless wonders we have in the GOPe.

Cruz does have some good ideas. Others do too. They need our support. In these days, the house and senate denizens are no longer local. One can vote with the pocketbook to candidates in other states if their own choices suck badly.
