Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is bullish about the chances of an immigration reform bill passing the Senate and he says Republicans need to pass it to avoid falling further into a "demographic death spiral" that could hurt their chances in the next two big election cycles.
"If we don't pass immigration reform, if we don't get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn't matter who you run in 2016," Graham said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday.

In all fairness, unlike the blacks, a lot of Hispanics grasp the concept of voting for those who deliver, not just those who promise. They are not a monolithic vote now, and will not be in the future.
The Democrats, and Graham, seem to think that whoever gives the Mexican citizens in the US amnesty first, will get their votes forever. Mexicans are not like that.
A lot depends on where Mexicans live in the US.
38% of Texans are Mexican descended, compared to 45% white, but it is a 57% Republican state.
Whites and those of Mexican descent evenly divide California, but it is as blue as it comes as a state.
Nancy Mace could be the answer. http://www.943wsc.com/pages/personality_KellyGolden.html?article=11392681

Good points. I still don’t understand WHY Republicans want to do any of this. What has happened to Paul Ryan? I didn’t think he was stupid....he must be, though, if he thinks Republicans or America will benefit from this bill. Has he sold out to “corporate interests” that are pushing this bill? He’s one or the other - stupid or a sellout (or both, I guess).
Once you accept that the actions of the GOP most ofter mirror or reinforce, rather than oppose those of the Dems, it all falls into place.
On opposition party that can take an issue like Amnesty and find ANY common ground with liberal dems is NOT on your side.
Edit: AN opposition party

We have the same problem here with Corker and Alexander in Tn.
Alexander is up for re-election but no credible Tea Party challenger
has stepped up to the plate.
I like that one. :)
Romney was the genius who called in Saul Alinsky to help fix Detroit.
I’m aware of the gang of 70.
The fact is that there are some good folks in DC but they aren’t always loud. I’ve got a solid conservative congressman but he says very little.
And just what “conservative ideas” has the GOP been promoting lately?
Let me remind you that not that long ago, the GOP held all three branches
of Government. And what did they do with that power? Spend like the democrats. If you want to give your vote away just because the candidate
has an R by their name on the ballot, have at it.
For me, they will have to earn my vote.
What you have is 50+ million ‘Republicans” that only vote that way because they have been programmed to. Most watch the GOP move left and fall to the lie that ‘we gotta’.
No, no one ‘Gotta”. We can do what the founders established the country for and cast our votes according to how we believe. But thanks to the Kapos and the steady flow of propaganda, many forgot what being American really means and they will keep screwing up because they are too scared, too worried about their material goods, or to embarrassed to act like one.
Your very enemies will succeed if they drive you, one way or the other, into stating home.
The census and election turnout data says that you are a liar lightfoot.

"...But this is all about his war chest and his donors. He's got Duke Power, all the lawyers, energy companies from all over the country. He's got big money. And the SC GOP is scared witless of him. He will probably have the Koch bros."
I say bring it on. He will have the entire Tea Party against him.
I did not ask you who I should vote for. I asked what conservative ideas
are currently coming from the house and senate? I await your wise response.
