I tend to agree with this; but with the (very important!) caveat that an immigration bill must be accompanied by a provision that requires strict border control first.
Those who claim that strict border enforcement should not be elevated to such a level are entirely unserious about the matter, in my opinion; these people want a bill that would legalize the millions who are currently here illegally, without any reciprocal border enforcement for the future.

It matter little what happens on the border if you massively increase legal immigration. For example there is a provision in this bill that allows those ALREADY deported and living outside the USA to apply for amnesty! So really the border issue is window dressing being crafted to hustle conservatives.
Schumer is trying to do the 1965 immigration bill on steriods here. Increase legal immigration so much it shifts the electorate to the left. Most troubling is that it seems that Graham and the beltway GOP want that also.

“accompanied”? Why accompanied? Why not legislation limited STRICTLY and ONLY to border control? Why are you falling into the Democrats’ trap?
