The United States might have been able to prevent the deadly Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington had controversial National Security Agency surveillance practices been in place at the time, former Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday.

The former No. 2 in the Bush administration defended the NSA's ability to monitor phone and email data, and labeled as a "traitor" the analyst who has admitted to having leaked details about the classified program.

His judgment was affected a long time before the transplant.

And the wider thinking was that we should not burden the good people of Tx with the costs of non productive folks that were forced upon us by DC.

That said, most of the Texican people are hard working and they are part of who we are.

We would have handled it differently, but would have also had compassion for our neighbors.
Good neighbors stay, DC inspired Bums go away.

I know damn well MS 13 is a product of DC.
Barry and pals love some cocaine.
Rick Perry? Not so much. LOL
I suspect he is a teetotaler and that is fine.

You know a jerk when you see them.
The old lady selling tamales from door to door is welcome.
The jerk with the MS 13 tattoos needs a rope.

Remember Jamie Gorelick?
Recall the Wall between FBI & CIA?
Recall the FBI office in Michigan(?) that was refused access to the laptop of a foreign national involved in Bojinka?

All before 9-11

Then Able-Danger?
The persecution of Congressman Curt Weldon?

Lot of damn good Cheney was!

Ask yourself if YOU would be eligible for a transplant at the age he got his.

What younger person died because old man cheney got the heart instead?

That is what our legal system is for.

There have always been bully cops.
And there have always been cops that see everything but say nothing.

Cheney says NSA monitoring could have prevented 9/11.

Far more likely that an actual effort to enforce our immigration laws and visa policies would have prevented 9/11.

Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic: Archie, you’re violating his rights under the First Amendment.

Archie Bunker: Whose side are you on anyhow, huh? Look at me, I know I got a lot going against me, I’m white, I’m Protestant, I’m hard-working. Can’t you find one lousy amendment to protect me?

I think that what is really getting people rattled about all this NSA stuff is we are starting to profile people along political and philosophical lines and that just won't do when that power is given to unscrupulous types.

Despite the outrage over Mr Cheneys comments I find him to be a well reasoned and cautious man.

Has he stepped in a pile of **** once or twice in 40 years
of service?
Of Course.

I would trust the guy with mylife. I just wouldn't go bird hunting with him ☺ I am proud to have served Reagan, Cheney and Rumsfeld.

“Impossible to believe any government that has fully allowed open-borders for year after year.....has even the slightest interest in national security.....”

Well said! George W. Bush, Cheney’s boss, wanted amnesty and open borders....remember Bush’s “see you at the signing” stupid comment? Also, it’s not just Mexicans coming across the border.

And then there was George W.’s “religion of peace” comment when speaking about Islam. Bush opened the floodgates to Islamic immigration when he should have slammed it shut, especially after the September 11th attacks.

I voted for Bush/Cheney in 2000 and 2004 but they both turned out to be proponents of big, intrusive government who just happened to have an “R” after their names.

I want to tell you people something about Reagan Cheney and Rumsfeld.

One of my shipmates went to work for Reagan at the whitehouse, setting up radio and TV address’s.

When he came back to our group, he said this man was so genuine.
He knew everyone by name, he knew all of their spouses names, kids names, birth dates.

These guys were the real deal.
Obie and Moochie won’t even look at them.

"The people of Texas voted and WE decided that WE will allow the children of illegals to get an education because WE don’t want to pay for generations of illegals on the government dole. It was OUR decision. If YOU don’t like it, don’t live in Texas.

I just hope there will be seats left for the kids of the Texans I served with. You know the AMERICANS! What other illegal alien attracting benefits for non Americans did you traitors proudly vote for?

Since it did not prevent Boston from occuring, it would not have prevented 9/11. It would take magic to get the many different. agencies to work together.

But they were forbidden from notifying INS or the FBI.

First of all INS ceased to exist back in 2003 when it was replaced by USCIS, ICE and CPB under DHS. Second, the point which you missed, which is SOP for you, is that the plans and procedures that are in place weren't properly executed. Soetoro and company own the Tsarnaev debacle not Bush/Cheney.
