Avril Haines will be the first woman to be second in command at the CIA, but critics point not to her gender but her lack of CIA experience. Her choice suggests Obama wants a close ally.
Plucking from a collection of high-powered female lawyers serving the White House, President Obama has nominated Avril Haines as the next deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
One former senior CIA official tells the Monitor that her nomination has prompted surprise among his former colleagues, not due to Hainess gender, of course, but because she is a relative unknown in the community. He says the law is not a typical track for the deputy director job and that shell likely face some skepticism among the ranks until she can prove that she has learned the intricacies of the organization and doesnt automatically default to an overly legalistic, risk averse, view of everything.
She has the disadvantage of following Michael J. Morell who is much admired across the board, the official adds. Thirty-three years of experience being replaced by none. She faces quite an uphill climb.

She OWNED an EROTICA CAFE!!!! OMG!! Is this for REAL or a BAD JOKE??? I live in a parallel universe!!
They assumed they had immense authority to push and shove over in IRS when they put Lois Lerner in her job, and she proceeded to do whatever it is she did ~ and in the end she whipsawed a handful of opposition TEAParty organizations ~ and barely touched the surface of even that movement, nor the Republican party, nor several other large actions within that party.
Obviously we don't want someone like Lois gumming up the works but she wasted a terrible amount of time doing nothing! Now she pays, but so do the other Democrat party yahoo know-nothings sitting in the big jobs in agencies they do not and cannot understand.
I wonder what Gates thinks about it, I wish somebody would ask him.
I would like to know where he stands, or if he does stand.
because Congress won’t beat up on a girl - they are afraid of the gender card.
Forgot about that. Maybe the next appointment will go to Bo the Waterdog.
Harriett Myers?
You cannot make it up. God help us.
Another Commissar!
