Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) made a move to formally kill an amendment Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) offered to the immigration bill. It would require border security before Americas at least 11 million illegal immigrants are granted amnesty.
Reid filed a motion to table the amendment, a move that he used to quickly push for an up-or-down vote. A vote in favor of tabling the amendment would kill it. A vote against tabling the amendment would allow it to move through for debate. Essentially, a vote for Reids motion is a vote against securing the border before amnesty. Likewise, a vote against Reids motion is a vote for securing the border before granting amnesty.
The Senate Reference guide describes a motion to table as: The motion is used to dispose quickly of questions the Senate does not wish to consider further.

Crusty Reid wants this as a 2014 campaign issue.
Theyre not illegal aliens and dont call it amnesty ! - SOB gang members
If you erase the borders, there is no United States.
There is zero reason for any republican to pretend to be fooled into voting for immigration “reform”.
As soon as it returns to the senate it will be gutted.
The only comfort now, and it’s a cold one, is knowing that at some future point, all the dem voting amnestied and their extended families will look around and realize that this place might be worse than the place they left.
It might stop the flow of illegal Democrat voters.
Introduce version after version over and over. Scru Reid.
Wonder how many GOP still vote for Amnesty ? Need to primary all that do
It would have been more important to try to defeat people like McCain, Flake, and Murkowski. Defeating Lugar sent a message to the GOP. As well as Sanford winning. Even Collins seems scared of a primary.
Another problem is the dems winning close races in red states. The ND Dem Senator Heidi Heitkamp will be all for this amnesty. Even though it is against the interests of her state. Which means more Democrat and La Raza voters can vote for nationwide gun bans. Rick Berg would have more likely voted against the amnesty.
No amnesty. Not now, not before border security, not after, never. No-one becomes a citizen who thinks so little of this Country that they come here in direct violation of our laws.
The senate is essential. Unfortunately, the concern trolls are already whining “what if we lose the House? boo hoo!”
Be proud from Arizona, John McCain has your back.
Defeating MURKOWSKI sent a message to the GOP: git off yer ass and HELP ME! So the RSC said hey, just run Indy, the RATS will shoo you in, and we totally have your back. Not to worry. These TEA people are such trash. Who let them in.
Not only must we make sure to get the majority (preferable the super majority) back, but make sure to increase our seats in the House. Don’t pay any attention to the trolls, as they work for the left
