Now is our chance to change the political field of battle; the recent revelations regarding the IRS's political targeting and the NSA's domestic spying have engendered a healthy distrust of the now feral Federal Government. - We have the opportunity not only to stop this thing dead in its tracks, but make support for it legally actionable at the federal and State level.
Here's how:
This is important because the Constitution clearly defines Treason as follows: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort — and Treason is one of the things that the privilege from arrest given congressmen in Art I, Sec 6 does not cover.
Indeed, after declaring such a state of invasion the Constitution requires the federal government to provide help to the states in Art 4, Sec 4, and to withhold help would be treason. Furthermore, a Supreme Court ruling stating the actions of the Governors actions as legitimate would be, again, treason.
Now is the time to make the Federal Government choke on its own actions. Let us force them into a political no-win scenario while they think they have us between a wall and a sword. |
Some how I don’t think the O admin will respond in a constitutional manner to this situation....I think the admin will likely invade any state that acts in such a manner by declaring them to be terrorists
And that is the point! Make `em mad enough to (a) fire the first shot [or otherwise be the aggressor], and (b) prove to the other States that the FedGov needs reeled-in, violently if need-be.
I like the concept.....perhaps we still have enough strength to make it work
I would start with Texas and Arizona. However, it would be tough sledding. Rick Perry seems to like immigration, the Texas House Speaker is GOP-e, and Jan Brewer is proving herself to be GOP-e on the Obamaocare Medicaid expansion, so I don’t know how likely it is that she would support this measure.
Prince Andrew being the first to do so.
Didn’t know about your ping-list, otherwise I’d have asked if this was worth your pinging it.
No prob! I scan posts each day for anything relating to illegal immigration, illegal immigrants, border issues, etc. ad infinitum; and add the keyword ‘aliens’. Then I ping one article I find interesting or different from all the rest. The ping includes a clickable link to a list of all posts with the ‘aliens’ keyword.
If you think it deserves notice, add the keyword and voila...it’s on the list!
Thanks... though I was referring to your action list.
I just sent a registered letter (with confirmation) detailing this* to governor Martinez; cost: $15.06.
Kinda expensive, but I want FedGov slapped down. This is something we can pressure our governors into doing; we can change the federal government without their approval using our State.
* I also included citations/reasoning put forward here.
Rick Perry wants above all border security. He has refused to weigh in on all the amnesty like, legalization like aspects of the current bills. Saying everyone needs to focus only on border security before even talking about the other side of the coin. If you think he likes the invasion going on along the Rio Grande where landowners are scared witless and crimes abound, you couldn’t have more misread the man.
He is also foresquare against the current bills in Congress.
God Bless Governor Perry for not backing down from the Baby Killers!
Tolerance sucks rocks just wrote you garbage about Rick Perry. TSR is wrong wrong Wrong about Perry vis a vis border security. Now that does not guarantee that Perry would like your approach but then, he needs to come up with an answer for this, one way or another. And so do other states.
Brilliant, and correct, theory. I’m betting no one will take it up. Neither party wants to stem the flow of illegals.
SB 1070 was wrongly decided anyway. I’d go right on enforcing it and make the justices come after me.
Call anyway. If you call and she ignores you, you did your part. If not, it’s partly on you.
Well, I wrote my governor.
I'm currently in another state, helping my grandparents… so I might take a trip to this state's capital and see about talking to their Governor; There's very little more that I can do… unless I, personally, research the other States' Constitutions and write their governors — and that could get expensive, because I'm using Registered mail to ensure it gets to them. (And even then they might dismiss me out of hand because I'm not from their state.)
Thank you very much.
Im betting no one will take it up. Neither party wants to stem the flow of illegals.
That may be so; but how many governors are chafing at the Federal Government's over-burdensome loads? How many resent their own powers being brought to naught?
All we need is two for the legal arguments I put forward to hold; and I'm betting that once one does it there'll be a push by citizens in several more states to do it.
I get that no-one wants to fire the first shot
, but those shots were already fired (in secret) by the NSA and the IRS and the FBI (not so secret; Ruby Ridge, ID and Waco, TX).
I would like to go the other route. Since states aren’t allowed to apprehend and deport illegals because “that’s the federal govt job” then bank robbery is a federal job to and the state will no longer apprehend on incarcerate bank robbers. Declare the states banks open, then see what happens.
That is great! Going to read through several times to make sure I understand it all. Thanks for doing this!
roger that
