The Totalitarian Left is Back
American Thinker ^ | June 8, 2013 | James Lewis

The New York Times is the fountainhead of the Leftist propaganda machine in the United States. It is therefore significant that its Editorial Board, stocked with Boomer radicals, has just made a fundamental admission against interest. In reaction to Obama's massive and systematic abuse of executive power, the NYT editorialized that

Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive branch will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it. That is one reason we have long argued that the Patriot Act, enacted in the heat of fear after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks by members of Congress who mostly had not even read it, was reckless in its assignment of unnecessary and overbroad surveillance powers.

But this is of course a lie. Nothing in the Patriot Act authorizes the government-wide abuse of power by the IRS, EPA, FBI, DOJ, and...

--snip--

Since the Boomer Left conducted its concealed Long March through the Institutions of the 1970s and 80s to conquer the organs of propaganda in the United States and Europe, the radical left has pursued a near-totalitarian agenda. The result has been a gradual coup d'etat that is visible in the one-party reign of Europe's new appointive ruling class, retaining only the outer mask of electoral legitimacy. In America we have seen the same concealed coup through the regular abuse of racial, gender, ideological, and sexualist preferences in hiring and promotion in government, education, and media. The result is not totalitarian in the killing sense, not yet -- but it is totalitarian in spirit, because its aim is total control over the lives of a free people...

--snip--

The Stalin time was bad. The Obama time is bad. American democracy recovered from the Stalin period. Will we recover from Obama?

Nobody knows the answer today.

I think we'll survive. Just don't expect any help from the RINOs and GOPe. They are part of the problem, to be tolerated only where the alternative is a rat, e.g. Ed Markey in MA.

Yes, “not totalitarian in the killing sense” —and part of the reason is technical; before widespread I.T. in order to get private info you had to PHYSICALLY kick down doors, etc. And that’s important cuz such a dictator then accumulates many enemies at a MUCH earlier point.

In the post informational world the ironic risk is dictatorship will be MUCH more long-lived:

Comparitively few doors of would-be innocent victims get kicked down, with the effect that the dictator can go MUCH further towards eradicating his (or pace Hillary, HER) political enemies.

SEE?

Spread it around.

Since the Boomer Left conducted its concealed Long March through the Institutions of the 1970s and 80s to conquer the organs of propaganda in the United States and Europe,

Anyone who thinks it started that late in America is way off, and as far as boomers and the 1970s running TV and Hollywood and the Universities, the military, congress, the Senate, courts etc, and publishing houses and the magazine industry and newspapers, since 1984 was the first presidential election that all boomers were old enough to vote in, it is clear that they were not running and owning the institutions of America.

In 1975 the oldest boomer was 29, the youngest (Sarah Palin) was 11 years old, does anyone really want to say that the 11 year olds and 20 year olds, run America's institutions, or that they will be 10 years from now?

Some ignoramuses never get tired of bashing Boomers. When Goldwater ran for president in 1964, the oldest Boomer would have been only 18. The campaign conducted against Goldwater by the press and tv reporters was as vicious as anything done against later Republicans like Reagan. Goldwater was generally depicted as a racist pyschopath who couldn’t wait to start WWIII. Nixon was scarcely portrayed any better. I guarantee you all the pols who voted in all the terrible liberal legislation of the sixties were definitely not Boomers.

The historical and cultural ignorance and the lack of simple common sense in the way the word “boomers” is used, is astounding.

Depending on the article or thread, the boomers have been running America for between 50 and 90 years although boomer Palin is only 49 years old today, an entire generation (those born 1925 to 1945) are skipped to create an America where 10 year old boomers are running the world.

Who “lost” Vietnam even though all the battles were won? Those 10 year old and 18 year old boomer Generals and Senators, and Presidents did, Roe v Wade? it was the work of those 16 year old boomer Supreme Court Justices, who had almost erased the Second Amendment by the late 1960s, boomers of course, Social Security? it was created by the boomers back in the 1930s, and on and on.

Well, I don’t want to knock any generation...even the younger ones. But I get mightily irritated by people, even many conservatives, who think ALL!! Boomers were dope-smoking, smelly hippies or Marxist revolutionaries. That was maybe 1 or 2 percent of all Boomers.

Hate to tell ya James, Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union, and he murdered millions. Obama is ours, right here, right now.
