The Senate voted 82-15 on Tuesday to end debate on a motion to proceed to a comprehensive immigration reform bill.
The Senate is expected to continue work on the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act throughout June. The next vote will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday that will be on the actual motion to proceed to the bill.
The four Republican members of the Gang of Eight Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Jeff Flake (R- Ariz.) were joined by more than 20 other GOP senators in voting to advance the debate. That strong support is expected to dwindle if certain amendments aren't agreed to.
"As an elected leader in my party, its my view that we at least need to try to improve a situation that as far as I can tell very few people believe is working well either for our own citizens, or for those around the world who aspire to become Americans," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said ahead of the vote Tuesday. "Ill vote to debate it and for the opportunity to amend it, but in the days ahead there will need to be major changes to this bill if its going to become law."

It’s true that Republican primary voters are clueless and have been for a long time.
Most states?
What happened to that woman from NE that was supposed to be so good, the one that replaced Nelson?

AMNESTY for short
That’s the tragedy of the American people; they are too uninformed, too apathetic, too careless; in short traitors to themselves.
Sold us out.
The thing to remember is that this has always been the arrangement—for all governments—going back thousands of years.
Getting mad about it solves nothing.
There is nothing to solve; nothing is going to change.
Best just to let our own, individual lives lead the mass peasantry by example, and muddle on.
Yep, he duped everyone. There’s a lot of that going around.
” Thats the tragedy of the American people; they are too uninformed, too apathetic, too careless; in short traitors to themselves.”
I’m 59. 40 years ago, the people were more active, more concerned, and better informed than today. Now, we have global instant communication, yet our press is closed, and the people don’t give a dam.
She voted for Amnesty, of course.
Sorry if this was mentioned.
Ryan is reported to have taken Labrador place.
There’s no stopping these guys and gals.
We haven’t heard of any to my knowledge serious primary challengers coming forth for the 2014 primaries. As ol’ Lincoln once said, “you can’t beat somebody with nobody.”
Would love to see IKE!
The bill will pass the Senate with plenty of votes. Many of them RINO’s like our 2 morons Chambliss and Isakson. It will die a quick death in the House.
AuntB: Miss me, yet?
” It will die a quick death in the House.”
Boehner is going to sell us out.
Lautenberg's (temp) replacement voted the same as he would have. Party means nothing. This bill is bought and paid for - and by those we conservatives usually trusted and respected in the past: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The Koch Brothers, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, etc.
ping ... you tried B .. you tried.
