Who infiltrated Townhall? The NSA’s job is not to track every phone call, email, and internet posting by private citizens. If it is, the NSA needs to be dismantled yesterday.

Sure, don’t decry massive data gathering on American citizens in violation of the 4th Amendment AND the Patriot Act itself. Shriek at the guy who revealed that gross usurpation.

I am starting to think and believe this is all a effort not only to snoop on innocent Americans, but to undermine American’s spying abilities and national security capability.

If everyone is allowed to decide for themselves what is legal and ethical and what is not, then society - not just American society - will collapse.

Society IS heading towards collapse, and largely because those deciding what is ethical and legal have no ethics and long ago discarded the legal limits of the Constitution.

You’re done, Galen. Your party is getting nothing in 2014. Patriots are abandoning it as a lost cause.

So whats the difference between reporting the “torture” of a prisoner and reporting this massive breach of the 4th amendment?

The comparison between Snowden and Manning is false.

Among other questions (already raised), why does this writer refer to Snowden as a “kid”?

This seems more like a schoolyard taunt than a well-reasoned article.

“I’m 66-years-old, cranky most of the time, and if the government wants to track who I call and what I download, then have at it.”

This author is more pissed that he knows what the NSA is doing rather than them doing it in the first place.

He’s OK with the govt. continuing to spy on Americans and the whole issue would have been better solved with adding one former security guard to the unemployment rolls than reporting abuses.

Some people just don’t take kindly to their bubble of happy illusion being burst.

"As a taxpayer, I'm not paying you to look out after my Fourth Amendment rights."

As a taxpayer, I demand that my government do exactly that. Along with all the other God-given rights the Constitution so eloquently enumerates.

In the end, there will be few in Congress who disagree with PRISM or snooping on us. They will say they want safeguards, but they know they are and will be ignored, no matter who is in charge. The silence from the GOP is deafening.

>>Edward Snowden should be extradited from Hong Kong and tried in the United States.

Under what charges? Didn’t the 1971 SCOTUS decision in NYT vs. US (the “Pentagon Papers case”) establish that it is not unlawful to publish classified information?

"While he's there, I hope that the U.S. Government's security services will continue to do what they are paid to do. I hope."

We're done with "hope," Sparky. Those services were effectively turned against us after 2008. Those that were not, have been too busy chasing whores, drinking like frat boys, and revealing state secrets in Colombian brothels.

What about simply PROFILING certain suspected people living in the USA and secretly tracking their phone calls here and to and from overseas, , albeit WITH A WARRANT, ? Is that a violation of the fourth amendment?

He hasn’t really given up anything we didn’t already know in terms of capability. We already knew that the Feds can access all this stuff pretty easily given they have a warrant. All he’s told us that’s new, is that the Obama admin is tapping all of us without bothering with the warrant part.
