NSA Leaker Comes Forward: ‘I Know I Have Done Nothing Wrong’
The Blaze ^ | 6-9-2013 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Posted on 06/09/2013 12:16:55 PM PDT by sheikdetailfeather

A 29-year-old former CIA worker and current defense contractor employee has come forward as the source of the National Security Agency leaks to The Guardian newspaper:

The individual responsible for one of the most significant leaks in US political history is Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old former technical assistant for the CIA and current employee of the defence contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. Snowden has been working at the National Security Agency for the last four years as an employee of various outside contractors, including Booz Allen and Dell.

The Guardian, after several days of interviews, is revealing his identity at his request. From the moment he decided to disclose numerous top-secret documents to the public, he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. “I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong,” he said.

Snowden will go down in history as one of America’s most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. He is responsible for handing over material from one of the world’s most secretive organisations – the NSA.

In a note accompanying the first set of documents he provided, he wrote: “I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions,” but “I will be satisfied if the federation of secret law, unequal pardon and irresistible executive powers that rule the world that I love are revealed even for an instant.”

I hate to say it, but his kid is dead. As in soon.

And I think we need to have a fund set up for him.

I think most sane FReepers would welcome a probe to read and record every thought we have.

If you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide.

I believe and trust the government, like most FREeepers. They just want to keep me safe! They told me so! Safety is the most important thing when you’ve got the FEAR of the TERROR.

So DUmmies and half of Freepers can finally agree on something - this man is a hero.

Check their board. They love this guy, just like an embarrassing number of you guys do.

The Nurnberg excuse is ‘I was only following orders’ ~ ‘my country right or wrong’ is a totally different sort of thing ~ try: http://www.americanthinker.com/2006/07/the_real_story_of_my_country_r.html ~ and more importantly, do not take interesting historic quotes out of context again like you’re some funny little foreign guy who wasn’t born here and doesn’t know shi’ite about anything ~ kay?

His ultimate duty is to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. That is the touchstone of his guilt or innocence.

It’s like this, we see through your smirk and sneer ~ time to get right with God and the universe on this issue. The chairman of the House Committee says the newsies don’t really know how this thing operates ~ and neither do you ~ and the Booz Allen Hamilton spy just lost his former employer an incredible number of current and future contracts. BTW, I trust the House chairman much more than I do any of the Freepers and DU wannabees who think this puke is a hero.

It’s extortion.

Government brought in the terrorists beginning with the immigration act of 1965.

It’s a case of:

‘Give us all your information and privacy or our buddies here blow up your kids’.

Funny how we could afford to have privacy before we became so diverse.

How did government function for 200 years without having a dossier on every 6yr old and 90yr old?

And, by the way, did giving up most of our 4th amendment rights to feel safe protect the 8yr old killed in Boston? Or the military personnel killed at Fort Hood? Or any other terrorist act committed since the Patriot Act was supposed to keep us safe?

What about the underwear bomber? His own father begged us to put him on the no fly list.

No, OUR security agencies were too busy using all that information for their OWN political and personal gain.

In truth, we’re no safer than we were before 9/11.

Ask East Germans how safe they were under the Stasi. Because that’s what we’ve got here now.

Governments kill WAY more people and WAY more efficiently than any terrorist could imagine.

I think most FREepers would agree that the US government should b e able to do whatever they want to us without anyone ever knowing. Just a blanket, “Bend over and close your eyes. This is for your own good and safety.” is good enough.

Trust the government because real, true FReepers do.

A fund? The Chicoms charge by the bullet ~ that fund? If you really cared you'd have noticed this guy doesn't trust any democratic government ~ only his Chinese buddies.

His expiration date is near at hand anyway.

I can tell you where to stuff it ~ which I just did. Glad you can read between the lines. You misrepresent American history on FR at your own risk.

In addition, based on various comments from various congressmen, I have very little confidence that those in Congress either know about or care about the limits placed on them by the Constitution.

He was working for our nation’s intelligence services. He leaked classified information. He’s a traitor, even if he thought he had good motives.

Hmm...hasn't zero "classified" or redacted info that we Americans should see that would illustrate his own anti-Constitution activities?

If someone "leaked" the truth about Benghazi and especially where zero was that night wouldn't that be patriotic?
