To that particular Californian, the concept of seniority is very important. It's much the same with labor unions where length of service is a key criteria. Likewise in the world of so-called "higher" education, tenure is also the prime measure of the man. The Californian obviously is influenced by that liberal line of thinking. To those, such as the Californian, who carefully monitor "born on" dates, a great Texan like Senator Ted Cruz would be a n00b and Vermont's Patrick Leahy would be afforded the ultimate in respect since he's been there since the mid 70s.

When I served you could check out weapons from the arms room, and get free ammo to take to the range to practice. Like most everything else, nothing stays the same and it’s generally not for the better.
Shooter’s last name is Zawahri.....at least that’s the last name of the home owner where the gunman killed 2 people. No wonder the cops don’t provide the name....the public is liable to believe that muslime extremists are starting to knock off Americans on the streets.

And the name "Zawahri" reminds me of Ayman al-Zawahiri, and who was the guy I recall 2nd in charge behind Bin Laden.
Oh WOW I did not hear that was the last name..the good news is the death toll has been lowered to 4 plus the gunman(Better than it was before with 6 dead plus the gunman) hopefully the woman who was shot in the head will survive
