“With all due respect, Senator, I don’t think this is an appropriate setting for me to discuss [this issue],” Holder replied during a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing when Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., asked if the executive branch was conducting surveillance that would give “unique leverage” over lawmakers.
Kirk replied that “the correct answer would be no, we stayed within our lane, and we did not spy on Members of Congress.”
Holder assured Kirk that “there is no intention to do anything of that nature — that is, to spy on Members of Congress or to spy on the Supreme Court.”

That’s where my frustration lies, too. I’m watching these hearings and see some strength (Gowdy mostly), but am not seeing any results. Just some hand-slapping and “we musdt never let this happen again” kind of thing. Maybe I’m too inpatient? I just don’t understand the purpose of all of these theatrics if the administration is just going to give all of them the bird anyway.

When Roberts wrote his opinion regarding obamacare, that was my exact reaction. Roberts has a strong history of sound constitution decisions. Therefore, I believed someone got to him about a personal issue that would be exposed.
The weasel word here will be the one used by Kirk, spy. To spy can be very narrowly defined to permit Holder to say there was/is no spying. Yet surveillance, observation, listening will occur and will.do so behind the “that’s not spying” facade.
This way when it's inevitably unveiled that exactly this event happened, Holder can claim it wasn't 'intentional'.

Question..... would the NSA and CIA have different ultimate loyalties? Maybe its wishful thinking but I’m beginning to sense a titanic power struggle happening behind the scenes of this administration.... I pray there are some good people left in some of these agencies that can bring down these unholy tyrants before its too late.
This administration acts like it can do whatever it wants and get away with it because the media will provide cover as it has with all the scandals so far. I pray that the day that cover ceases will arrive soon with the IRS scandals and these crooks will get what is coming to them.
