I can’t imagine even Reagan, if he replaced the asshole in the White House, would be able to reverse and repair the total damage that has been done these past 5 years . . . and, needless to say, all of which was done under the watchful eye of what we used to call the Republican Party . . . the totall STUPID PARTY!

Coincidentally, today is the day that Tom Emmer in Minnesota launched his campaign to succeed Michele Bachmann.

Minnesota 6th district voters, we must get this done. Tom Emmer has the potential to do great things for our nation.

Please help.

Dutch, we could use a little help from you and the "Big Guy" if you could swing it.

We sure miss ya'!

While I miss his steady hand immensely, I am glad he didn’t have to see what passes for ‘conservatism’ today...and in his name. Today, ‘lesser evils’ rule the day, not standing on principle. And my how people hate hearing that.

Truth often does hurt though.

Thank you for reminding me that a great American passed to his Heavenly reward that day.

I recall that Lady Margaret Thatcher was unable to attend the funeral but paid her respects with a recorded video.

President Reagan’s death came ten years after he announced he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

They are both sorely missed.

Has it really been nine years?

I was at Fort McCoy, WI, undergoing a training course. Classes shut down for the funeral, and every day room was jammed.

We need you now, Dutch...

Thank you President Reagan for showing me the way, politically speaking.

I am glad you are spared from witnessing what has happened
to America. You were so optimistic, that you would not like
my tagline, but its true.

This would mean that it has been nine years since I walked through the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, to see President Reagan lying in state, with closed casket.

I couldn’t pass up that opportunity to pay my respects to the man.

I have visited his grave a number of times.

I still remember Mr. President. I thank you once again for your service to our nation.

The very first vote I cast was for Ronald Reagan, and I was proud to do it. Can't say I've felt proud of voting for anybody on a Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket, save Sarah Palin, since.

It seems like a lifetime ago, it seems like yesterday. Rest in peace, Mr. President.

9 years ago President Reagan died
10 years ago next week my father died

For me, two great influences growing up who I don’t think would recognize the country today.

As a kid things seem so easy and obvious. I remember being 10 and they said on the news Carter was up by something like 15 points. I thought to myself what are they talking about, there is no way Jimmy Carter even comes close to beating this great man. I think that’s when I started seeing the mainstream media for what it is.

Oh my, has it been that long? We were on vacation on a sailing trip and we stayed in the marina an extra day so that my family could watch the funeral services on TV. I had been a delegate for him in 1976 and had met him on a number of occasions. I think it was the first time my boys saw me cry.

The Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia, PA, at the Pennsylvania State House/ Independence Hall from 5/25-9/17/1787 for the purpose of drafting a new constitution to succeed the Articles of Confederation. George Washington was unanimously elected by the delegates to serve as the convention president. Washington presided over the convention while sitting in a mahogany chair crafted by John Folwell in 1779. James Madison, who presented the blueprint for the new Constitution and kept copious notes of the debate, reported that delegate Benjamin Franklin, near the conclusion of the convention, said: "I have often looked at that (a headboard carved with the face of the sun) behind the president without being able to tell whether it was rising or setting. But now I ... know that it is a rising ... sun."

Outside Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, PA, when the Constitutional Convention was nearing adjournment in September 1787, Mrs. Powel asked delegate Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Franklin sharply replied, "A republic, if you can keep it."

The final memorial service and interment of POTUS #40 RWR took place on 6/11/2004 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA. The service was broadcast live on network TV stations. During the 1980s, Ronald Reagan, U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II formed a successful alliance which contributed to the internal collapse of the U.S.S.R. and the end of the 44 year Cold War. After the conclusion of the graveside service, the mourners filed by Reagan’s casket to pay their final respects. Lady Thatcher paused before his casket then turned her head to the left to gaze over the Pacific Ocean at the setting sun as it was literally slipping below the horizon.

Four plus years after POTUS #40 RWR’s death and 221 years after the Constitution was drafted, Barack Hussein Obama was elected as the 44th POTUS.
