The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed an Open Skies agreement that will "permit unrestricted air service by the airlines of both countries between and beyond the other’s territory." The agreement means Saudi airlines may fly from any point in the kingdom to any point in the United States, and that U.S. airlines may fly from any point here to any airport in Saudi Arabia. i’ve spent time in riyadh and i can tell you the ‘security’ they have at the airport is a joke. people regularly passing through metal detectors, setting them off, without being stopped. other people paying workers to skip them around the lines and the little security there is.
there is no limit to the amount, type, and number of weapons that could be brought on board.
of course, there is the other possibility that the entire plane would be filled with whatever WMD you’d like, flown directly into / over one of our cities and detonated.
