Obama Approval Unaffected by Scandals
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | June 5, 2013 | Rush Limbaugh

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: From TheHill.com: "A new poll finds a trio of controversies raising public concerns about the 'honesty' of the Obama administration," not the president. "A new poll finds a trio of controversies raising public concerns about the 'honesty' of the Obama [regime], even as the president maintains his approval rating." Limbaugh Theorem again. "A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released late Tuesday shows 55% believe the IRS targeting of conservative groups raised questions about the administration's 'overall honesty and integrity...'"

But Obama had nothing to do with it.

They don't associate Obama with what the IRS did.

He had nothing to do with it.

"A plurality, 43%, also see the IRS missteps as a part of a 'widespread effort' to investigate Tea Party groups to 29% who blame the scandal on a few tax officials who were acting on their own." Get this, now. Given all the news, and even the congressional hearings on the IRS and the inspector general report and the targeting of Tea Party groups, only 43% -- not even half the country -- sees that as a purposeful effort to investigate the Tea Party. It just happened, say 43%.

That number ought to be 75, 80%. "Fifty-eight percent say the administration's handling of the attack on the Benghazi, Libya, diplomatic post also raises questions about the honesty of the White House. The same number say the Justice Department's subpoenaing of reporter email and phone records in national security leak investigations also raises concerns. But the poll also finds that the controversies have not damaged President Obama’s personal standing. Obama holds a 48% approval rating with 47% disapproving. Those numbers match his rating in the same poll taken in April."

Limbaugh Theorem.

So people in increasing numbers don't like what's happening in the country. They don't associate Obama with it at all. He's not tainted by it. His "administration" has problems. His "administration" may be dishonest. His "administration" is very, very troubling. Not him, according to the polling data. So... (interruption) See? Here's Snerdley saying, "At some point this has got to stop." I've been saying that for 25 years about the cultural rot. I have, for 25 years. Longer that than that. I've been saying about the cultural rot: "At some point it's gotta stop. At some point it's gotta bottom out. It's gotta reverse."

It hasn't.

It continues to plunge deeper and deeper, get worse and worse.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Immigration bill. You know, The Politico had a story that Dingy Harry said that Mitch McConnell told him they're not even gonna try to block the vote. They're not even gonna force cloture on it. McConnell's office sent an e-mail out and said (paraphrased), "No, no, no, no. Politico got that wrong. We're not gonna get that immigration vote without cloture, 60 votes." But there are rumblings that the Republicans in the Senate aren't going to do all that much to prevent this vote from taking place on immigration.

So, folks, we're not gonna stop Obama from being Obama. If he wants to gouge us in the eye by appointing Rice and Samantha Power, that's what he's gonna do. Show me the evidence where any of the things he's done -- from economic policy to foreign policy, to anything -- you name it, has hurt. You can't find any polling data (which all they care about in Washington) where he's been damaged by it at all. His approval number still sky-high. Well, not sky-high, but it's not dropping. It's not plummeting.

You are exactly right. 0bama is just a bit player on a much larger stage. The frog has been boiling since the 60’s and the destruction of America is coming closer to reality. The corrupt ruling elite, greedy banksters, and low information voters are pushing us over a cliff into Idiocracy. I am not sure there is enough of America left that is worth saving. Texas, Oklahoma and the states of the Old South could secede and become the Free States of America, but we would probably be outnumbered and lose Civil War II. Not that we wouldn’t give it our best shot.

Oh you’re so right. Hannity is a big Obama apologist. We know that and the whole world knows that.

Say, have you ever heard of distorting people’s meaning by ignoring the contexts of their statements?

Oh that’s right, you have heard of it because you’re doing it.

Scandals and violations of the rights of Americans are all over the place in the Obama regime and Washington D.C. The retarded and low information voters that infest this country don’t blame their boy Barry. Okay! Then who the Fluke is running this country? WHO is to blame?

Sean Vannity is about as conservative as fat boy Christie. I was very happy to hear Rush today rip fat boy and flatly said he is not conservative, he is a RINO.

Yeah, but the reason Saddam got 100 percent of the vote, was because he did not allow anyone to run against him. So technically if only he and his family had voted for him it still would be 100 percent, correct?

the media

they did the same thing during clintoon’s two terms, except when clintoon’s personal mess got in the way of that

the method

if it’s damaging to the admin report the issue as an issue of an executive dept or its head if necessary, never the POTUS

if it’s positive to the admin, report the issue as an achievment of the POTUS

underlings can do bad things, not the POTUS when a Liberal-Leftist is in the WH

underlings at the exec depts are just flunkies, even the cabinet officials and not directly responsible for anything and the POTUS, and his henchmen in the west wing, are running and in charge of everything and responsible for everything, when a Conservative is in the WH

the media has two WH narratives; one when their friends are in the WH and one wben they’re not

The Washington Snakeskins:

Quarterback Obummer has no connection

whatsoever with the Obummer Snakeskin team.

The team just runs the plays that each player

except the QB calls during 157 huddles...

The QB calls no plays-

he just watches the game from the line of scrimmage

while they play against the Cincinnati Benghazi Bunglers.

The QB never touches the ball,

The QB was a walk-on draft from Columbia with no collegiate record,

is always fast and furiously jumping the gun offside on the Second down

grabbing the First Mask

Holdering

running over journalists on the sidelines

running over cheerleaders at the Liberty Bowl

prohibiting the Statue of Liberty play

trying to do an end-around the Congress team

attemting to do a reverse on a Hail Mary pass

scoring touchdowns for the opposing team

and

doing a moslem dance in the end zone.

The referees gave him no penalties.

“His approval is irrelevant. His agenda is dead . . .”

I think you are right and the goal should be to keep pressure on these scandals (actually more like crime scenes) and solidify the mistrust of the administration.

Making gains in congress is also necessary. One of the most interesting aspects of the IRS matter is that “Tea Party” and pro-life organizations were particularly targeted. I think this will have some good effects:

1) This likely will energize many of the small Tea Party organizations. Any attempt to intimidate Tea Parties will simply backfire on the those trying to do so. 2014 will more closely resemble 2010 than 2012. Any Fedzilla bureaucracy that tries to suppress the Tea Parties will find they are throwing gasoline onto a fire.

2) This also has the promise of tamping down GOPe opposition to Tea Party types. They don’t like the Tea Party movement, but for the coming election cycle they will have to put that aside. The IRS scandal is too important for their election prospects, and like it or not, the IRS scandal is tied directly to suppressing the Tea Party.

3) This may also help the Tea Party’s image with LIV’s who have previously bought the lies uttered by the MSM and dems. Touchy-feely LIV’s are sometimes inclined to sympathize with underdogs, and the Tea Parties getting targeted by the IRS puts them in that light. Maybe some might start to think that Tea Party types are not bad guys at all like CNNABCNBC etc. have been saying.

4) Maybe for this cycle the antagonism that some Republican voters have for social conservatives can also be tamped down. Pro-life and pro traditional marriage groups have been targeted as well, and that may help both sides here find common ground for reducing the size and power of government. Maybe this will help restore some part of the Reagan coalition. Economic conservatives, social conservatives, libertarians etc, can all rally around the common cause of smaller, less intrusive government.

I think gains in Congress will be easier than most think. Obama-cultists don’t vote in midterms.

The IRS stuff is so serious that Obama probably needs a third term to get to the bottom of it.

We need to stop being concerned about Obama, he is a lame duck.

We need to retake the Senate so he will have nothing to do for the next two years but play golf and travel-oh wait.

Agreed.

Rataking the Senate would put the final knife in his legacy.
