The Susan G. Komen foundation canceled its signature 3-Day walk in Washington and six other cities next year, slashing the number of the fundraising events by half, as participation continues to drop more than a year after a funding controversy involving Planned Parenthood.
Komen called its decision to pull out of the event one that was not made lightly, as this bold and empowering event has touched the lives of thousands of participants.
Spokeswoman Andrea Rader cited economic uncertainty and competition from other charities as factors in the decision the same reasons Komen has cited for the drop in fundraising since founder Nancy Brinker sparked national headlines in February 2012 when she unsuccessfully attempted to deny funds to Planned Parenthood.
Many participants have reported that enthusiasm for the series remains very high, but it is more difficult for people to donate at levels they had in the past, the statement said. It said participation in the past four years has made it difficult to sustain the event in 14 cities. We hope to one day return to a larger number of markets, but believe strongly that this adjustment will allow us to return the greatest amount of dollars to the cause at this time.

Any one want to guess what the divisive screed will be by collectivists against those who are not participating anymore?
We’re all bigots seems to be the meme of the day.

Still refuse to admit that giving to Planned Parenthood was not to their best interest. You reap what you sow.....
I’ll bet they’re tax exempt, with their contributions to Planned Parenthood, the recipient of $500,000,000.00 this year of tax money, and one of the biggest contributors to breast cancer.
Oh, yes, induced abortion is a risk factor in breast cancer.
They call us Rascist Bigot Homophobes,,,like thats a bad thing?
All of the polls say Americans love abortion and Planned parenthood, yet Komen’s giving to planned parenthood is killing them,
Are the polls full of crap?
I walked in San Diego in 2009 and 2011. I was thrilled when they dropped PP because it bothered me and then I watched as PP threw a temper tantrum and drew them back into their web. I had signed up to walk 2012 because they dumped PP but then decided not to collect donations and didn’t walk. Actually I did walk - went ahead and trained with my team and will do so again this year but no more fund raising or doing the official walk. My dear friend is walking in San Diego her 11th time so I’m happy she will be able to again next year but I doubt whether I’ll even donate for her this year. Sad. It’s a wonderful experience.
I figure if they have money to give to PP then they probably have enough without anything from me. They are getting sneaky with their name and charity identification, but if you see the pink they are there undercover trying to deceive. If you ask to see their solicitation documents, you will find Komen buried in the fine print.
Komen, race for the abortion
Komen laid down with baby murdering dogs and now they have fleas.
Sucks to be them.
The Susan G. Komen foundation ends more lives every year through their funding of abortion than they save fighting against cancer.

Komen can’t outrun Planned Parenthood controversy as race enrollment drops
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure series is seeing a big drop in participation nationwide. New York’s race could be down 25% from a year ago. Enrollment in the Washington, D.C. 5K in June dropped almost 40% from last year. The Indianapolis run in April lost 11,000 participants, and registration for the San Francisco 5K this weekend is down 50% from 2011.
