CAPITOL POLICE SUDDENLY WANTS TO SEE TEA PARTY WEBSITES BEFORE PROTEST APPROVED.
And they are taking weeks to grant the request.
The Tea Party Patriots were planning a rally in Washington DC on Wednesday June 19th.
But they ran into a wall.
The Capitol Police want to see their websites first.
Kevin Mooneyhan from the Tea Party Patriots described this latest assault on the Tea Party:
Below is the timeline of events surrounding our June 19th rally at the Capitol. We havent done anything to publicize this event yet because we wanted to make sure we had the permit in hand. You know, follow the rules, do the right thing, etc.
Event Date: June 19, 2013 Permit Submitted: 5/22/2013 via fax
Officer Brown contacted me on 5/23 to ask me 2 questions If we would have a banner and if so what the dimensions would be and how we would hang it.
If we were going to have buses and to make sure that we coordinated with Union Station since the Capitol couldnt accommodate buses.
The impression that I got was that it would likely be approved in a few days. She told me, Hopefully the next time you hear from me, it will be to let you know that the permit is approved.
The following Tuesday, 5/28/13 I reached out to Officer Brown for an update....

“Blaming the other so called GOPe for winning is whiny and stupid.”
Try opening your eyes, Lakeshark. And try to think for a change.

It’s OK to be gay Johnny. It’s a lesser evil. Embrace it because it means winning....

Its not the govs business to review FB, twiiter or websites to determine if a group of people is fit to have a peaceable assembly.
This is nothing but a tyannical out of control commie government at work.
I don't see anything in that article saying that the Cap Police are going to deny the application. The officer involved actually told the Tea Party rep to go ahead and issue the invitations.
What I do see is a series of legitimate questions regarding potential threat and conclude that the Cap Police are trying to figure out what they need to do to secure the area and protect the public and Members (note they ask specifically whether any Members are going to attend - and the Cap Police are tasked with protecting Members. They've had officers (Detective John Gibson and Officer Jacob Chestnut) take bullets fulfilling this duty (the 1998 shooting where those two were killed was aimed at Conservative Republican Tom Delay, people may recall).
The only people, Ray76, that are looking "foolish" here are Conservatives who are jumping to conclusions, ahead of any sort of denial being issued, about there being a tyrannical intent to suppress free speech, peaceable assembly, the right to petition the government, etc.
Same exact thing that happened a couple weeks back during the anti-IRS rallies at various Federal buildings around the country. FPS (the law enforcement agency tasked with protecting Federal facilities) came out and observed the protests to make sure there wasn't any threat. And people here were talking like they'd been rounded up by the gestapo.
I said then, and I'll say now, that I remember pretty well when Conservatives (and Freepers) were the good guys who worked WITH law enforcement rather than adopt an adversarial posture (like the Left normally does). I remember the "Get out of Cheney's House" protests in late 2000 and the Walter Reed "Support our Wounded Warriors" counter-Code Pink protests in the mid/late 00's and how they all featured detailed information about close coordination between Conservatives/Freepers and Law Enforcement.
Unfortunately it seems that we're going the paranoid route on this these days ...

last time we went to a tea party rally in DC (2011 I believe) the cops were as nice as could be. They let the kids take pictures on the horse and complimented to another attendee that this was boring because of the make-up of the crowd and they liked it when they didn’t have to arrest people. The leftwing crowds riled up the horses with the loud music, litter, chanting and smells and they always try to get the horses to bolt.

The Capitol police know that the Tea Party people will actually clean up the place before they leave....why dont they want the Tea Party to come in and clean it up again? I dont understand...just following orders, US Capitol Police is a FEDERAL agency. They aren't even being subtle anymore..

But the Dems will be worse unless we embrace gays, abortion, and all that good right and just stuff, you know, the same damn thing they believe. Freepers even told us so over and over.
Do you nor understand it is OK when we get marxism from the GOPe? It’s better! Don’t make me stomp my feet!!!!!
To: FlingWingFlyer
Bingo. The OWS never got treated like this. As a matter of fact, they were allowed to violate Federal properties and allowed to STAY there and SLEEP IN TENTS there and RAPE and DO DRUGS there, without question!
To: Noamie
Don’t forget now, that if you had not wasted this bureaucrats’ time by applying for a silly permit to come to DC and make a lot of noise, then your request would not be delayed or eventually denied.
Silly republicans, politics is for Democrats...

It appears as thought the D.C. Gestapo is trying to pick up where their IRS brothers left off. It’s disgusting. This isn’t America anymore. It’s a “fundamentally transformed” dog pile.

We are in the midst of America’s final days. Sad to see this.

I’ve not alleged any “tyrannical intent to suppress free speech, peaceable assembly, the right to petition the government”
All I said was “The existence or not of any Tea Party webpage has no bearing whatsoever on any ‘potential reaction from the Left’” (Post 244)
Whether or not any “Tea Party” group has a web page is completely irrelevant. This is the point. The whole point. And nothing but the point.
Apparently tanknetter and JRandomFreeper are friends. Cool.
JRandomFreeper calls me an “agent provocateur”. Not cool.
Whether or not any “Tea Party” group has a web page is completely irrelevant.
Get a grip.

How about the organizers just call for a nationwide protest in the streets of America?
