Mechanicsburg, Pa. (WHTM) - A woman was forced into a van on the Carlisle Pike Sunday afternoon and then raped by two men, according to Silver Spring Township Police.
Police said the woman was walking on the 6600 block of the Carlisle Pike when two men quickly approached and forced her into the back of a van around 4 p.m. on Sunday. The men then drove to an alley and raped the woman, according to police.
Police Superintendent Richard Hammon said the act appears to be random.
"This lady wasn't doing anything wrong," he said. "She was walking in her neighborhood and she was approached rather quickly, I would say, and there really wasn't anything she could do."

The men are both described as being in their 30s with husky builds and shaved heads. One of the men had a beard, one-inch gauge-style earrings, blue eyes and a dragon tattoo that wrapped around his right hand and went over his shoulder. The other man had a goatee, hazel/grayish eyes and skull tattoos all over his body.

I imagine that had she been armed, there would have been plenty that she could do.

Hard to spot eh.
What? Its okay to rape someone if they are “doing something wrong?” These guys are buffoons...
Time for Vigilante Justice, String em up./
Amish gone bad?
Dragon tattoo and skull tattoos.
Probably weren’t ever in the Boy Scouts.
Won’t be able to say the same thing 20 years from now.
That’s a pretty nice part of PA. At least it was years ago. Mechanicsburg is the home of legendary Williams Grove Speedway
The Amish Jokes are getting old and lame.
It is very important that girls be raised with the idea of self defense, and that they are *expected* to defend themselves if attacked, “because this is what girls do.”
The underlying philosophy is that resistance, any resistance, radically increases the “degree of difficulty” of the attack; and it works strongly to curtail the attackers feelings of dominance, which is a big motivator for attackers.
Rapists in particular want to dominate and humiliate their victims, but if their victims refuse to be victims, refuse to be humiliated, by continuing to resist, it will often exhaust the rapist, many of whom already have “performance anxiety”.
And if they can injure the rapist or attacker, with a knife, or any handy sharp or blunt object, which is often far more convenient than a gun, they don’t just win, they win big.
Point well taken. Hopefully this Superintendent was trying to prevent anyone from dismissing the danger by assuming the victim was somehow putting herself at higher than normal risk (by soliciting for prostitution, buying/selling/using dope, etc. in a “bad” area). People should never assume that they can remain safe by merely not “doing something wrong”. Or he could be a complete idiot.
Bingo!
That's about the dumbest thing I've read in a while. I guess if she was doing something wrong it would be ok to grab her.
I read it as, "She wasn't doing anything risky or foolish, therefore, these are some very brazen rapists and women need to be hyper-aware."
No kidding. About as old as the "Bush's fault" thing over and over and over.
That poor, poor woman. If I am not wrong (and my PA freepers could confirm or deny) but Mechanisburg is somewhat rural (vs big city). I hope they catch these creeps before they kill someone.
It’s not a joke. We’re in the middle of two-terms of a president who is 1) the most oppressive regime ever and 2) a racist black. People are afraid to use the real word. Cut ‘em some slack.
A Tattoo Merit Badge, (tattooed on).
In all likelihood the perps were white. Are we supposed to use "Amish" for white dirtbags now too? In any case, the original use of Amish was for Muslim perps since both of those are religions. Only the sledgehammer humor pushers extended it to black.
