To follow up on the recent story about a five-year-old boy suspended for showing a cap gun to his friend on a school bus, Investor's Business Daily relates a charming collection of similar anecdotes regarding such child abuse at U.S. re-education camps -- oops, I mean public schools. Each tale involves a very young child receiving severe punishment for the offense of imagining he had a gun.

In the most recent case in question, a kindergarten student in Maryland shows his cap gun to a friend, and is browbeaten for two hours by school officials, without his mother even being notified, until he wets his pants in fear. In another case, a boy caught with "a quarter-sized Lego toy gun" on his school bus is threatened with suspension from the bus, detention, and the demand of a written apology to the bus driver. Perhaps my favorite story, however, were I a fan of surreal horror, would be that of the seven-year-old boy who bites a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun and then says "bang, bang," for which threatening behavior he receives a two-day suspension.

Needless to say, not one of these cases involves an actual threat or danger to anyone. Nor do any of them even indicate malicious intent on the part of the "offending" child; these were just boys playing, having fun, showing off their toys, or goofing around in the lunch room. In other words, their punishment -- any punishment -- seems disproportionate compared to their alleged wrongdoing.

Schools are generally supposed to teach children how they will be expected to act in society when they are grown. So, what are these zero-tolerance policies actually teaching them? Gun are inherently evil - unless the government issues one to you. Then they are righteous and approved.

The government wants the next generation to feel sick to their stomach at the very sight of a firearm. A Pavlovian response so ingrained it can not be ignored. Our children are being psychologically programed every day, Guns are bad...Guns are bad...Guns are always bad...Only the Law may have guns...

It was always at night — the arrests invariably happened at night. The sudden jerk out of sleep, the rough hand shaking your shoulder, the lights glaring in your eyes, the ring of hard faces round the bed. In the vast majority of cases there was no trial, no report of the arrest. People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word.

You are exactly correct. The “Progressives” aim to make thought about guns and weapons “thoughtcrime”.

That was a major reason for the “Gun Free School Zone Act”.

Substitute ‘State’ for ‘Law’ and I agree.

The new order despises individual accountability to Law.

We should have learned from the Smoking Police but we didn't. Instead Marijuana has been legalized in many non-smoking states.....huh? This Anti-gun ruse is meant to make your child's future something he or she won't lift a finger to keep their freedom. Their future comes full circle back to serfdom. It is called Brain Lateralization; the majority of the population are individuals who are right-brain dominate.

Right Brain dominance is a characteristic of the female gender..not exclusively....and as teachers are mostly female, then we expect the right-brain to be active in the teaching profession...

The threat to our culture, is the dominance of right-brain thinking....best summed up by this quote:

I took my cap pistols with me to my first day of grade school in 1955. If they had acted then like they do today, I guess they’d have hauled me down to the cop shop and had me convicted of threatening to shoot my classmates. I’d now be working on a 58 year stretch in the state pen.
