A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows that the multiple scandals dogging President Barack Obama have finally gained traction with the general public.
The poll determined that the president fortunes have reversed. His approval rating slipped to 45 percent, down from 48 percent at the beginning of April. At the same time, 49 percent of the public now disapproves of the job Obama is doing, compared with 45 percent disapproval rating at the beginning of April.
But the more alarming number in the Quinnipiac poll was that 76 percent of the public wants a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS targeting of conservative groups. This is bad news for the president, who has been trying to put the scandals behind him. And its great news for Republicans, who have Attorney General Eric Holder on the ropes and can use the poll to argue that the public has lost faith in the Justice Department.
The last month has been bad for a president who was elected on a message of hope and change and buoyed by the enthusiasm of the millennial generation, typically defined as 18-to-30-year-olds. This group overwhelmingly voted for Obama in 2008. And while their support was less feverish in 2012 he won 60 percent of the millennial vote last year, compared to 66 percent in 2008 he still is widely seen as a young persons candidate.
But Obamas failure to deliver on many of his election promises is turning off the very generation that was inspired to go into government service. An April survey of more than 3,100 voters under 30 by the Harvard Institute for politics found a deteriorating trust in political institutions. It determined that only 39 percent of young voters believe the president...

Ø is but a symptom of an illiterate electorate.
This country is doomed, beyond repair. You can’t fix our culture rot.
obviously they didn't mind it the first few times, but how many times do these dumb azzes have to have it shoved up their butt till they don't like it???
They didn’t lose faith. They’re stupid. Two generations of Americans being edumacated by the liberal infested public school system has finally taken its toll.
Saw the Talk Shows this Sunday...almost NEVER watch them anymore...it was painful to see David Pfoffle(sp?) White House aid tell the American people that we are not seeing what we are seeing.
Still some libs claiming that Fox’s Rosen “deserved” it. Think that’s called “blaming the victim”.
As far as the IRS goes...”it’s not political, just a series of mistakes”...Really, these tv talking heads think we are idiots.
They never had faith they just wanted a new toy to play with.
Great swaths of Americans have been miseducated by stupid teachers and their even stupider administrators who should never have been given charge over the education of anyone’s child.
As one who worked in such an administrative office for some years, I can testify to the heart-wrenching ignorance of those who had no business graduating with an academic degree and should have washed out of the education industry in their first five years, but parlayed that grim lack of knowledge into a career of 25 years or more.
I agree, but the McGovern/Robert Kennedy sect were decimated by the election rejection of one and the demise of the other.
When you have a true believer, and they are all stary eyed, and that person is revealed to be a real jackass, it sort of destroys your ability to jump in to support another ‘idol’.
And then with Kennedy, they had a guy they could get behind and love, and then he was shot. I think a number of those folks dropped out.
What a mess...
Obama is going to flip the switch for a lot of folks who were really turned on in 2008.
They are pushing the Special prosecutor to get the tyrannical treachery off the news cycle.
They will never admit to being wrong. Doesn't mean that they believe their own horsesh!t. They just won't admit their guy's failings publicly.
You are correct. It was inevitable, and when the whole thing falls apart, conservative principles will inherit the best parts of the corpse to rebuild upon.
From my experience of observing such true believers, they just shrug their shoulders and keep pulling the Democrat ticket because "everybody does it but the Republicans are fascist, warmongers, against women, against poor people, only for the rich guy, only for the white guy, etc.". They are batsh!t crazy, hypocrites, and misinformed voters. They would do best to stay at home watching television and not even show up at the polls with their poor understanding of their candidates, the issues, or American history and global politics.
Don't neglect the so-called "parents" who failed to instill even the slightest amount of morality in their offspring.
What with the effort to get out the Democrat vote, and the biased lopsided advocacy by the left on our university campuses, I’m not convinced you’re wrong.
As for the twenty somethings who are working with a young family, I’m not sure they stay tuned in, not all of them like before anyway.

It’s not just the public schools-
we are importing millions of Obama voters as well.
Hasn’t been enough traction gained yet, in the effort to disclose to a working majority of American voters just what kind and how big a fraud the Current Occupant of the White Hut is and always was.
It is a difficult thing at any age to lose your religion. But the simple fact is this: The Won is epic fail, propped up in office by appealing to the gullibility of the low-information voter and a complaisant media that seemingly cannot bring themselves to apply even a modicum of hard news reporting. And as the pot boils over and the soup spatters on the stove top, it is obvious that some kind of crisis is building.
It took nearly two years from Nixon’s re-election in November 1972, until his resignation (in the face of impending impeachment) in August 1974, but the devastation was total and complete. Of course, one of the strategies was to get Spiro Agnew to resign FIRST, thus clearing probably the last obstacle, in the minds of the persecution-minded and majority Democrats in the House and Senate, to the direct assault on Nixon himself.
If the Current Occupant somehow is expelled from office, either by his forced resignation or an outright impeachment and conviction, then Joe Biden becomes President. While that would be a serious enough circumstance in and of itself, at least he would come in KNOWING he is a lame duck, and like Gerald Ford, may be counted upon to blunder and bungle just about everything he touches.
