IRS Employee in Bombshell Congressional Interviews About Tea Party Targeting...

IRS employee in bombshell congressional interviews about tea party targeting: 'Washington, DC wanted some cases ... I sent seven'

Interviews with IRS employees have established that the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the Internal Revenue Service was engaged in targeting tea party groups and other conservative organizations for unfair levels of scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.

Rep. Darrel lssa, chairman of powerful House Committee of Oversight and Government Reform, made that startling announcement on CNN Sunday morning.

'As late as last week,' he said, 'the [Obama] administration was still trying to say the [IRS targeting scandal] was from a few rogue agents in Cincinnati, when in fact the indication is that they were directly being ordered from Washington.'

A committee spokesman sent MailOnline partial transcripts of two interviews with unnamed IRS workers about the agency's actions in early 2010, on whose testimony Issa based his bombshell statement.

One of those interviewees said it was 'impossible' for a few IRS agents to have orchestrated such widespread partisan targeting on their own.

'Did [your supervisor] give you any indication of the need for the search [for tea party groups], any more context?' one IRS witness was asked in a closed-door interview.

'He told me that Washington, D.C., wanted some cases,' came the reply.

The employee, who said he or she was evaluating 40 such applications for tax-exempt status from conservative organizations at the time, said 'some went to Washington. D.C. ... I sent seven.'

Those who turn in the supervisers will get audited. Those who lie, will get rewarded.

We an FR live in a very small bubble. We’re a permanent minority. What we think here has no affect on the majority of the population’s voting patterns.

That is true for now but won’t be true forever. Don’t give up. We need to hang in there.

You are probably right about the GOP being idiots and careless about these constitution violating scandals. They all sat on their hands as the radicals openly called for the Tea Party’s civil rights to be violated by the IRS. They have sat around unresponsive even while the DHS smeared their conservative voters as domestic terorists. The GOP Rinos hates conservatives as much as do the Marxists in the other party. We have to nail them all in this if the GOP fails to get some skin off the agencies who did this.

It’s got to be from the top. Why else were there meetings between Cutter (deputy campaign director), Shulman and WH staff?
These guys likely went over an enemies list and concocted an algorithm to target conservatives. The algorithm could have selected IRS audits at a specified income level for those in conservative zip codes (or even smaller units) in must have swing states (OH, VA, FL). Some reverse engineering/ statistical analysis could uncover such an abuse. Compare a conservative zip in OH vs a Leftist zip in OH at the same income level.
At minimum, we need to force the IRS to have uniform audit rates across the combination of income level and zip code/congressional district. In other words, a person in a conservative district making 250k cannot be audited at a higher rate than a person in a Lefist district making 250k.

Read the story of Gideon in the Bible, and how God whittled his army down to a nub and THEY WON. God did this so that HIS name would be glorified for the success, not Gideon or his army.

IF you folks have given up, there are others here who have dibs on your gear.

If you haven’t, there’s plenty of room left in the fight. There’s also plenty of time. Keep your chins up.

Sara, 2010 wasn't a bubble, and if we come out swinging and not give in to defeatism, we will make a big difference in 2014. Have faith. I live in the bluest of states and have been able to persuade some of the staunchest liberals to reconsider the errors of their ways. Logic works once you open people's eyes to it. You just have to keep plugging away and not give up.

I salute the excellent work being done by Congressional Republicans in the exposure of the IRS harassment of the Tea Party; however, like most Patriots I’m looking at the bottom line: I want to see these IRS criminals and traitors indicted, given a fair trial and sent up the river to the Atlanta federal prison!

If we allow the Left to get away with this nonsense, it’s the end of the Republic.

And another more senior IRS Cincinnati employee complained about micromanagement from D.C.:

Q: But you specifically recall that the BOLO terms included "Tea Party?"

A: Yes, I do.

Q: And it was your understanding ‑‑ was it your understanding that the purpose of the BOLO was to identify Tea Party groups?

A: That is correct.

Q: Was it your understanding that the purpose of the BOLO was to identify conservative groups?

A: Yes, it was.

Q: Was it your understanding that the purpose of the BOLO was to identify Republican groups?

A: Yes, it was.

Be On the Lookout (BOLO) for American Newspapers like the Washington Post and New York Times to pick up this story...

Wow, this is big. I wonder what else Issa’s got? He may be playing with a pretty strong hand here.

The LSM kept saying that the Tea Party had “gone away”, “lost its relevance”. We knew it had gone underground and tried to effect change through grass roots efforts. But now we ALSO know that they were trying to fight THIS battle, and I’m sure it sapped a lot of energy...

The lower level employees obviously don’t want to take the fall, and even their devotion to Obama isn’t enough to make them willing to risk jail.

I agree with you. This could be big. And we probably shouldn't assume they are obamabots. Not everyone in the federal agencies are Democrats.

From Fox News:

Interviews with IRS agent suggest Tea Party targeting came from Washington

When asked by congressional investigators about allegations and press reports about two agents in Cincinnati essentially being responsible for the targeting, the agent responded:

“It's impossible. As an agent we are controlled by many, many people. We have to submit many, many reports. So the chance of two agents being rogue and doing things like that could never happen. … They were basically throwing us underneath the bus.”
