The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) declined Friday afternoon to meet a Senate Finance Committee deadline for answering detailed questions about the origins of the IRS scandal. The questions had been submitted jointly nearly two weeks ago by Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) and Ranking Member Orrin Hatch (R-UT).
In a joint statement to Breitbart News, Baucus and Hatch said:
Its disappointing that the IRS failed to produce any of the documents requested by the Committee.
"This is an agency that revolves around making the American taxpayer meet hard deadlines each and every year when they file their taxes, oftentimes penalizing those that are late.
The IRS needs to do much better.

That would certainly be good for starters. No paycheck. They’ve threatened our military and others with no paychecks due to sequester and/or debt ceiling . . . no one has the stones in DC to do it to the IRS though.
Now they are defying the Democrat-controlled investigative committee in the Senate.
You have to wonder if the co-conspirators believe they are right in their plans, therefore they cannot be wrong in their actions. It's perfectly conceivable that Holder will refuse to step down, ........and that Obama will back him.
The result will be utter gridlock ---an end to new programs with high-sounding names but destructive of liberties, (good for us domestically but dangerous internationally).
Hardly. Even in the unlikely event a Republican President was elected and was hell bent on using the IRS to go after his political enemies, the entrenched liberal bureaucrats that work there, and are presently invoking the fifth, would go running to the MSM who would lionize them as courageous whistleblowers.
They don’t care at all.
Actions speak louder than words, especially when the speaker is a liar, and the GOP hasn’t done a damn thing.
I wonder when Issa is going to invite Mizzzzzzzzz Lerner back to his committee...
The Obama administration has gone rogue.
We need the military to step and restore the government to the people.
They will not do it, not now, not ever. So, what are you chumps in the committee going to do? Just as I thought, not a dang thing, not now, not ever. I detest these slime bags.
A republican president, lol, would simply hire more liberal bureaucrats
Like anybody is shocked. Its going to take contempt of Congress charges to wring anything out of them. This is begging for a special prosecutor.
The warning have been all over the place but problem is millions of Americans are the most ignorant on the planet.
Probably some in Congress think this is the new Subway $5.00 - 12" Sub sandwich...
The thing is, that charge means nothing.
If congress charged me with contempt, I’d say yep and grin at them.
Also congress can only appoint a special counsel to investigate itself.
Holder is the only person who can appoint a special prosecutor.
Our government is truly off the rails now.
The GOP shouldn’t even be dealing directly with the Obama IRS on this stuff. All letters should be going to the White House with instructions to gather the information and provide it in a timely matter. Or else.
Yeh the chances of a special prosecutor are pretty slim. This thing is just going to go round and round.
There should be a consequence :
#1 ) audit the IRS
#2 ) defund the IRS
Exactly. Boehner & McConnell will jawbone this all the way through Nov. 2014. That’s not good enough. Time for an action plan. We are going to have push them into it kicking and screaming because they are terrified of the kenyan.
Ouch! That stings!! Did they need to use such a scathing response?
So Much for the Two Rogue Employees Line 90 IRS Agents Were Involved in Scandal
Wow this will be a big news Sunday morning talk show day.
The Politicians trying to “GET TO THE BOTTOM” of this are the PROBLEM. Simply put.. NO GUTS NO GLORY... start INDICTING people or go home!
“What a lame statement from Baccus and Hatch.”
No kidding! How about turn over the damn documents NOW or go to freaking JAIL!
At this rate, don’t be surprised if large swaths of the American public tell the Feds, in any capacity, to “take a hike”. Yes, it means societal breakdown, but it will probably result in the Feds really overstepping (think Boston Massacre). Then all bets are off.
It’s time to defund the IRS — just like they defunded the military during Vietnam.
