New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson has announced that her paper will not attend an off-the-record session with Attorney General Eric Holder to discuss the Justice Department's monitoring of reporters, due to the fact that the meeting is to be conducted "off the record."

Its probably some kind of trap, or hes going to make them an offer they cant refuse, something like that.
It’s a butt kissing session and Team Kenya don’t want their kissing on the record. So they arrange a field trip to the DOJ to make the press feel special, face time with AG, refreshments, etc.
Having said that, NYT earned caps for this ping ONLT.
Ping.
“This is actually huge...”
Yes, it is. If holder has lost the clinton working press, he is done. Stick a fork in him.
Anyone ever notice how close the T is to the Y on your keyboard? I mean like seriously.
I checked the article at the link. They really won't attend the off-the-record session because it is "off the record." Why is off-the-record in quotes?
Has being off the record ever stop them from reporting something before?
I’m thinking the same thing.
If they had journalistic integrity, they’d show up and then print what was discussed front, center, above the fold— repudiating the idea that any Constitutional guarantee could be signed away.
Yep. It’s a shell game. I’m not playing.
The media is in the pocket of the administration. Period.
nice, I like that!
These NYT and AP scumbags are shifting their eyes back and forth wondering if anybody is actually buying their act. Sure, they’ve now decided to be responsible journalists with integrity and everything, lol! They don’t need an “off the record” meeting with Holder to know what to do - - spin like whirling dervishes and circle the wagons for the African communist scumbag they worked so hard to elect.
It wouldn’t at all surprise me if Holder gave them all a heads up and told them how to react so they could fake being “objective” journ-O-lists.
SO .......what if he calls a party and no body comes?
Wouldn’t it be great if he was the only one there He could not only investigate self but instructs self!!
My original day was gone before Fourth of July. May have to move that up to June if the rest of the press disses him!!!!!!

It’s the other way around, too. The MSM put Zero in the WH, they can take him down - if they ever want to. And the WH team know this.
When did the Old Gray Whore develop a sense of morality?
They may be temporarily peeved at their partners in the administration, but there's no hint that they're suddenly going to morph into anything resembling an honest bunch of "journalists".
The pic brought me to tears... of laughter!!
My Papa always told me, “sh*t or get off the pot.” Perhaps the pseudo-media/politicians should do the same.
When dealing with ethical people ( and Holder is NOT one of the ethical ones) an off the record meeting can allow a person to offer background information that helps make the story understandable. In this case the New York Times has made the right choice. They already understand the 'background information' and that the purpose of Holder's meeting is only to manipulate.
It might be too late for the newspaper industry to save itself - they've lost so much credibility - but either way - it's best to survive or go down with full integrity. Hats off to the New York Times.
You're right on that one!

And supposedly so do we. As long as we are easily fooled, they play a winning game.
And they win only when we the people don’t know the game being played.
