Congresswoman Michele Bachmann says she will not run for re-election in 2014, ending her tenure as the representative from Minnesota's sixth congressional district after four terms.
In a video released on her website early Wednesday , Bachmann says that, in her opinion, if presidents can only serve eight years that length of time is sufficient for her to serve in Congress.

I’m sad too. That is the trouble with principles - you only have them if you stick to them. I’m not sure, but I imagine she is the type that rails against the cronies in government that hold their seats forever, and end up just becoming the recipients of pork bills, rather than getting anything done or changed. I hope that she is setting her sights on bigger things.
When is Franken up for re-election....
Wait for the other shoe to drop on this one.
This being leftist MN, she has probably maxed out on her rise. She won by only 1% last time and she was facing a rematch with the same guy (although I expect ‘14 to be a better GOP year, it still wasn’t in the bag for her). Of course, there are two key races up there next year, against the execrable Governor Dayton and Sen. Frankenstein.
Bummer....she was strong on conservative values and leadership
I hope the RINO liberal non-leadership did not push her
Aww damn... Conservatives will lose a strong, reliable voice in Congress. She’s in a tough spot, defending her seat in an already leftist state that’s lurching even further leftward by the day.
Minnesota doesn’t deserve her.
Bear in mind the rotten GOPe treatment of no help, money or otherwise, during her campaign.
I have to wonder if that is helping weigh down her decision not to run as well...
She is busy defending ethics charges. She squeaked by last time and with her current problems probably figured time to go. She will not run for Senate.
She was treated shabbily. I don’t blame her one bit. Maybe she will run for senator from another state, but I doubt it. That doesn’t seem like her. Godspeed, Congresswoman Bachmann.
Thanks GOPe for not financially supporting Bachmann after saying you would on Mark Levin’s show.
This is sad news. Bachmann tried to derail Obamacare and the GOP leadership were stumbling to follow.
I hope the RINO liberal non-leadership did not push her>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Of course they pushed her out. Thats what this is all about:
assassination of the Tea Party by the joint activity of Obama, The IRS, and the GOP RINOfaction.
Michelle was far too effective in her work to expose the slide of the USA into a minority driven nationalist socialist autocracy.
I hope Michelle runs for the presidency, or at least helps with the campaign to elect a Tea Party president.History will show that Michelle was prescient and she deserves the thanks of the entire nation.
This is called leadership and actually walking the walk.
My cynicism grows deeper every day.
My latest thought process is after observing McCain, and hearing about the IRS, and Boenher not doing anything about it this a year or so ago are this....
I am convinced the E-GOP was more Comfortable with an Obama win, ( Romney would have made them reinvent Government ) and in unison but by a blank unspoken proxy to destroy the Tea Parties.
It was a two-fer to keep the incestuous bacchanalian orgy of power, us vs them politics, kicking the can down the road, and egos going for as long as they can to keep their net worth above 7 digits.
I hope Michelle is leaving not slink away under the specter of investigations, but to join with Palin, Cain, and West and anyone else that wants a New Party...
Because at this point, IMHO the E-GOP is over as they truly suck on ice...
Thanks for posting lets see what comments are
I see the tea party movement rising again.
Boy does this suck! Not only will we lose this seat but we lose an incredible conservative. Hopefully she will prepare for a presidential run for 2016.
Next year
At somepoint yes...
Who cares about a 501(c)(4) status, just operate by passing the hat, or get an accountant etc. just unplug from all that crap don't play their game, as I understand it politcial speech is still part of the 1st Admendment.
But at somepoint people may not even fear the IRS and all the snooping and go forward without fear with God as their Co-Pilot. This is bigger and a more multi-dimensional battle going on here, The Tea Parties are just a vessel...
I really doubt we’ve seen the last of her. How many times have we seen these people support term limits for decades?
I call this leadership by example.
