The drama aspect ;)
or a guess ... Love to see the fly ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=iuGboEKUOF8
No. Syria can't gas Israel with impunity because Israel and the US would respond to a WMD attack with a nuclear weapons strike from submarines, stealth bombers, artillery, or ballistic missiles. The SA-300 can't protect from all that. And if the A-rabs were so crazy and determined to destroy Israel that they are willing to have their own countries destroyed in a nuclear counter attack they would have done it a long time ago.
The only thing the SA-300 is good for is preventing the US/NATO and Israel from providing direct air support to the US taxpayer funded Al Qaeda foreign mercenaries that are attacking Syria. Since the Al Qaeda terrorist are getting their butts kicked by the Syrian Army the only thing that will save them now is direct intervention by the US/NATO and Israel.
Distance from Syria to Golon. 0 Miles, range of tanks, 9 miles. Width of Israel from Syrian Border, 50 Miles. Range of missile Batteries 75 miles.
I guess its ok if your landing your planes 25 miles out to sea.
I’m not in favor of Russia arming Syria. Russia has been an ally of Syria for at least 40 years. It’s not surprising it would support it now. Russia still wants to be a player. They’ve got as much right to back folks in the Middle-East as we do. I wish they wouldn’t, but what the heck.
Now, Israel can’t let Syria get these. I have no problem with them taking action. They shouldn’t telegraph that action.
When it’s a public threat, Russia has a right to defend their forces. If Israel now does something publicly, they’ve opened the door for Russia to do something publicly against it.
When they do that, others are going to be drawn in.
Israel isn’t just setting policy for itself here. It’s setting up a honey-pot for a major player that will draw others in too.
This is an insane policy. The region is too critical, and the down side is almost limitless when you think of allies and the armaments they have.
Well they are welcome ...
My thoughts exactly as well. Russia better watch out for earthquakes should they make any moves.
You give a Muslim a child to hide behind and he will shoot. Convince these idiots your missile system will protect them and they will use it to attack.
Extremely destabilizing.
Eagles Fly ... Bears Walk.
Absolutely! My first prayer each day to our Lord is: “Father, today would be a great day for a meeting in the air!!!” As I go to sleep each night, I say: “Father, you can give me the best dream of all by coming and calling us up tonight as we sleep!!”
but we know where it leads. ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=IJ6wEtUm8Nw&NR=1&list=PL7BA5B64C6049EA23
Well, Russia gave some of those to someone before. It was a slightly different build (some improvements have been made), but Israel defeated those in short order before. That may not be possible now.
...and yes, we will have to sit back and watch this.
I agree the items will be shared.
Take care.
