Too many people who lean left would rather crack nasty jokes than actually be liberal and listen to other views.
Why is it that liberals feel no qualms about being rude? Far too many people who are perfectly polite and courteous, otherwise, think nothing of insulting you for not sharing their political opinions. They look at us with disdain, thinking we're unenlightened conservatives and never hesitating to say so.
As the lone conservative at the tennis courts, I cringe at the Sarah Palin jokes and the jabs at Mormons. When news came on 9/11 that planes had struck the World Trade Center, my partner commented that Bush would use it as an excuse to increase military spending. Bush, of course, is dumb as are all Republicans, and we're epitomized by Dan Quayle, whose spelling of "potatoe" has entered historical canon. (Never mind Obama's telling us there are 57 states, or having a meltdown without a teleprompter) And now it's Marco Rubio, caught drinking water. "Next time he'll forget to zip his fly," joked one of the guys. Mitt Romney changes his mind more often than he changes his underwear. Reagan had Alzheimer's when he made B movies, and Bonzo had to feed him his lines. And would you believe, from a guy with a pathetic serve, this comment about the Clarence Thomas, justice of the supreme court: send him back to the plantation.
Liberals have no shame. A dinner guest in our home stood up at the table, clinked his wine glass and said, "It shows how stupid the American people are, they voted for Bush twice." He turned to me, smirking, and said, "I know you voted for him." A biochemist who had been too busy learning liberal doctrine instead of the basic manners of being a guest....

Because people on the right are generally too well-mannered to beat the living $#!+ out of obnoxious boors on the left, no matter how richly they may deserve it.
The real problem is since that gays have made their sexuality a civil rights issue (as if they were born to it and it wasnt something that developed from puberty):
1. preachers will be threatened to not preach Romans 1, 2 Peter, etc. and other verses against homosexuality.
2. religious figures (except muslims, of course) will be sued for refusing to perform gay marriages
3. churches that are not afraid of calling sexual sin SIN will be protested against.
Gay marriage is not about equality; it is about threatening those who would dare call it sin.
The legacy of the 60’s - spoiled little kids feeling resentful, envious and guilty that they would never be able to measure up to what their parents had come through so well - the Great Depression and WWII - so they mocked, belittled and tried to destroy the “old values and traditions”, enabled by politicians trying to collect their votes like Bobby Kennedy and by snake oil salesmen looking for their money like Dr. Benjamin Spock - what we believe ourselves too small and incompetent to accomplish we find it easier to reject and extinguish......
This is why I created the Polite Politics group on Facebook. We’re center-right to Libertarian (with one liberal), and the first rule is that we must be polite to each other and the people about whom we post comments.
I did that during the election season last year, so I wouldn’t go crazy, and we’re still going strong even now. It’s a closed group by invitation only.
Bullseye.
99% of the Left place on the left side of the Bell Curve. That’s why they are so rude. They do not have the sensibilities for cause and effect.
Honestly, I think there is a breakdown in civility on both sides. I believe the left is more often guilty of this. I read blogs and forums and read such names as libturds, CONsevervatives, obastard, tea-baggers, repukelicans, repugnicans, democraps, o-bots, teabilly, racists, chickenhawks.
This obviously goes far beyond name calling. Even radio and tv host are guilty of it. Most of the as arguments liberals and conservatives are laced with tons of assumptions about the other person, that could be seen as insulting and rude. Especially when conservatives are called racist.

1. Liberals believe they are morally superior.
2. Liberals believe there is no legitimate reason to disagree or oppose them.
3. That means that oppnents to Liberalism are evil and/or stupid.
4. This means, any tactic, any action, any smear is legitimate to stop the evil and moronic opponents of good, decent liberalism.
Where have I gone wrong?
