Take him up on another plane, and let him jump.

Passengers told police Herrera made unusual statements"This is my stop."
"My girlfriend lives just around the corner here."
"I've got to get some milk before going home."

The emergency exits have lock mechanisms to prevent passengers from opening them without approval from the flight crew More accurately, the differential air pressure between the cabin and the exterior prevents the door from opening, whether crew approves or not. Unless they depressurize the cabin.

There are probably many terrorists in our country right now masquerading as Hispanics. I would imagine they go to Mexico, where it’s much easier to blend in with the dark hair, eyes, and olive skin. They steal an identity and become part of the underground network sneaking into the U.S. and, once here, they are protected by political correctness... until the day they get the word to attack us.

One time my husband and I were on a plane going from Dallas to Houston. We got up in the air and in a short while, my husband said we weren't going to Houston, the plane was turning. About that time, the pilot came on and said we were going back to Dallas as a door was open. I believe it was the door the people used to load the galley of drinks/foods, etc. Whatever door it was, it couldn't be closed from the inside, we had to land for it to be closed.

Passengers told police Herrera made unusual statements before trying to open the door, but the FBI did not elaborate on what was said. What the heck is it with "reporters" these days? What the heck did he say? If the FIBbies won't tell you, surely there were some passengers available to interview.

The emergency exits have lock mechanisms to prevent passengers from opening them without approval from the flight crew so there was no danger to anyone on board, Port of Portland police said
Its called PRESSURIZATION!! The cabin pressure diferential between outside pressure and inside cabin pressure at that altitude is at least 4 or 5 psi. On a door about 2200 square inches in area that amounts to more than 8500 pounds of force that idiot would have to muster to open the thing. Not possible. Actually you can't even open the door on the ground until the a/c is depressurized the force required is too great.
