I recall watching an episode of Archie Bunker back when it was originally being broadcast.

Phone rings. Edith answers. Archie is in his chair watching TV.

'Archie, it's for you.'

Archie takes the phone, finds out who is ... hands the phone to Edith and tells her to hold onto it. Archie take off, literally running up the stairs.

Scene, Edith standing there holding the phone.

Edith still standing there.

Moments pass. Silence. Moments more pass.

Silence.

Silence.

Silence.


Then, FLUSH!
