May the shooters go to where the Obamadork will go when they die.
We can take a fuller description of the offending material("debris").
Hope the scumbag murderers are found quickly.
Sorry to hear this. Deliberately targeting cops, gang initiation? Organized crime?
He was a pretty good baseball player. He was in the Cincinnati Reds farm system for a few years before he became a police officer.
Supposedly, they’ve found 12-gauge shotgun shells on the hill where the shooting allegedly occurred. It’s an odd situation.
Just wonderful.....heaven will be absent of any such evil and its doers of such despicable crimes.
The police chief was pretty blunt. There may not be an expensive trial in the works.
I can assure you, we wont give up on this person or persons until we have them either in our custody, or in the front sight of one of our weapons, and I personally hope the latter is the choice, the chief said.
Another odd part is it happened in what would normally be a busy highway. I would never set up an ambush near an off ramp of a major highway unless it was dark.
The article said early morning. Maybe it was in the very early morning before light.
The shooter could’ve been waiting for ANYBODY to stop and clear the trash. And, it just happened to be an officer upholding his pledge to “Serve and Protect”.
Prayers for his family.
Prayers up for this man and his family.
Awful. RIP to this young officer and may God comfort his family. Amen.
Seems fishy to me... I doubt very much that this was a random act.
According to Trooper Norman Chaffins, Ellis was shot and killed after he stopped to move debris from the roadway early Saturday morning on an off-ramp leading from the Bluegrass Parkway to Highway 55 in Nelson County. Chaffins said it is unclear at this point in the investigation if Ellis was the intended target of the shooting.Video at link.As of now, Chaffins said the only people who have been eliminated as suspects are those conducting the investigation.
According to the Nelson County coroner's office, a 12-gauge shotgun was used to Ellis multiple times. Investigators said Ellis' service revolver was in its holster when he was found dead by a passerby just before 3 a.m. and that Ellis had no radio communications with dispatch in the minutes before his death.
Ellis was a husband, father of two, and a pee wee baseball head coach. He is the first Bardstown police officer killed in the line of duty in the department's 150-year history and the department's only K-9 officer.
UPDATE:
Funeral is being held now. The several main roads that we have are being shut down for the procession. LOTS of people lining the roads. 2,400 US flags were donated and line the route from Bardstown to Chapin.
Local (not official) word is that this was a drug related payback. They are looking at the investigations he participated in. His family is being watched as they consider them potentially at risk, also. Although we figure that the perpetrators would have done one of them first if they had intended to go after the family for revenge or to send a message. One guy in Louisville has donated $50K!!! to the reward fund, which I think is close to $100k now. For that much money someone will sell out.
In a town this size, it is always possible that someone could get to the killer before the police and save the need for a trial. I don’t think it is too likely, but certainly possible.
KY can be tuff and clannish
And corrupt
I don’t know the details but KY and TN hillbillies are from the same zygote
