A Kentucky policeman was shot and killed in an apparent ambush when he stopped to pick up debris on a highway exit ramp, the Courier-Journal newspaper said on Sunday.
Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis, 33, was found shot to death on an exit ramp on the Blue Grass Parkway in north central Kentucky early Saturday morning.

Yeah, there is definitely more to the story..
Do I know every single person? No. Do I know people that know darn near every single person? Yes.
Muzzie activity is going to be in E-town or Radclif, near Ft. Knox. There is a Mosque in E-town. Muzzies won’t come over to Bardstown to shoot a cop when they have all sorts of active duty personnel over there which would make a much more dramatic statement.
We are waiting for some more detailed information. IMO, it was a setup for any cop or for this cop personally. If the latter, a personal grudge.
I expect that by the middle of the week the local grapevine will have something for us.
okay ... just don't rule out soft targets. moslems like to move around quite a lot. Could have been one of their training exercises. Not saying it was. Just keep that grapevine open.
3 am Saturday on the Blue Grass Parkway exit at Bloomfield Road is *not* busy. No traffic, nothing. May as well have been on a two lane country road.
Stop that nonsense sir...
The shooter could’ve been waiting for ANYBODY to stop and clear the trash. And, it just happened to be an officer upholding his pledge to “Serve and Protect”.
Prayers for his family.
How many meth labs in the area?
Prayers up for this man and his family.
I’d think they put something large in the road then called the cops to report it.
Awful. RIP to this young officer and may God comfort his family. Amen.
Anything’s possible I suppose. But it sure sounds like they did intend to lure a patrol car out then shoot the driver. Just being evil.
Hmmm, sounds like someone knew the officer well enough to know he would stop to pick up street trash, knew he was on duty and where he would be covering ... if this was a setup not a random murder. If not random, expect the LEOs to be looking real close at the wife’s habits.
Had a cop backing up on I-25 this morning to pick up a whole mess of twine that had blown out of someone’s vehicle. Needed to be done, but scary.
Unless the idea was “shoot a cop any cop”
yep, backing up on an interstate is terribly scary. Hope the blue lights were going.
Seems fishy to me... I doubt very much that this was a random act.
Early morning...tree limb on the road, highway crew off for the night. Cops move stuff like that all the time.
Don’t want to “bother” the dispatcher with calling out for something so minor....happens every day.
Yeah, the wife is going to be under a microscope.
