Political correctness is a very strong force today. Due to political correctness, we are not allowed to have frank discussions about these issues, lest we be called “homophobic”.

Remember the character assassination against the Miss USA contestant a few years ago, who had the “audacity” to say that she believes marriage is a man and a woman??? People are afraid of being the next target.

I have also noticed, that talk radio seems to have dropped homosexual marriage as an issue to be discussed. It’s almost as if the word is out that we conservatives have to let go of the marriage issue, and just let homosexual marriage happen.

As far as homosexuality in the Boy Scouts, remember that liberals want to target age of consent laws. There’s a case going on now, in which an 18 year old girl has been involved sexually with a 14 year old underage girl. The liberals have been talking how unfair and unjust it is, that the 18 year old is in trouble with the law. So, I would expect that the homosexual steamroller will go after these age of consent laws, as they have gone after our marriage laws.

The isntruction to tur n the other cheek is one ot ‘suffer any assault that can reasonably be born, or rather reasonably be endured, FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE- however, soemtimes the attack is so aggregious and potentially harmfull that we must protect ourselves for the sake of others (more on that below)

The turn the other cheek is meant to remind us NOT to return evil for evil- our natural instinct when wronged is to ‘get them back’ and we often plot how to do so- Christ wants us instead to pray and ask God how we can be a blessing to that person- to bring an act upon them where that person has to turn to us so that we can lend them without expectign return, clothe them if they need it, etc- In regards to shall we ALWAYS turn the other cheek and not defend ourselves- the answer is NO- We are commanded by God to resist evil
