Explosive book reveals former President’s praise for the Nazis as he travelled through Germany before Second World War
A new book out in Germany reveals how President Kennedy was a secret admirer of the Nazis.
The news comes embarrassingly close to a visit being paid to Berlin next month by President Obama - one week before 50th anniversary commemorations of JFK's memorable 'Ich bin ein Berliner' speech pledging US solidarity with Europe during the Cold War. President Kennedy's travelogues and letters chronicling his wanderings through Germany before WWII, when Adolf Hitler was in power, have been unearthed and show him generally in favour of the movement that was to plunge the world into the greatest war in history

FDR also admired the brand of socialism of Adolf Hitler.
‘Ich bin ein Berliner’ - Which translates to: “I am a jelly roll”.
Well his “ask not what your country can do for you” speech suddenly has new meaning. Hitler’s speeches were all about Altruism and sacrificing for the good of the state.
So did Daddy Joe. That’s why Roosevelt called him home from London.
It seems that the only admirable character in that article was “Dunker-The-Dog”.

Roosevelt modeled the “New Deal” and the U.S version of the Wefare State on the fascist versions of the times so it doesn’t surprise me that a liberal New Deal politician of the times admired Hitler. it just points out the incredible irony and twisting of history that goes on when the media and Dems claim that Nazis were “conservative.”
Maybe that explains why he fought against the Japanese? Just kidding. Virtually all Progressives loved the Nazi regime and also that of Mussolini. It is an undeniable fact and is still part of artistic engravings on major buildings in New York City.
Remember, JFK was born in 1917, so he was still in his callow yout' period any time he traveled in pre-1939 Deutschland.
Some things never change. Our President today loves Hitler also. Would have loved him at 20 just like JFK did. JfK was not learning about America at a young age either.
Lots of famous Americans were fascinated with Hilter before 9-1-39. JFK always had hardons for blond German/Austrian women, and J. Edgar Hoover had files to prove that he was too close to NAZI HONEY POTS; which is one of the reasons he was transferred to the Pacific Theatre.
Does this conjecture about Hitler have any supporting facts or is it another hot air inflammatory charge? I have not had enough coffee to read beyond the excerpt.
No surprise. His dad, Big Joe, was certainly an admirer of Hitler.
I perfectly willing to laugh at the mistakes any politician makes, but what JFK said does not translate to “I am a jelly doughnut.” The correct translation of his words is “I am one with the people of Berlin.” JFK did not make a mistake despite reports to the contrary.
American Progressives are the godparents of European fascism. Fascism and Progressivism were not about redistribution, they were about a govt knowing what’s best for the people and working with willing business and financial interests to create a society where the elites “take care” of the people by programs, regulations and laws. the New Deal and before that Wilson’s programs were both American versions of fascism,sans the overt violent enforcement. Mussolini, not Hitler, is the true face of Fascism. and prior to his Ethiopian adventure, Mussolini was much admired by Progressives.
It’s purportedly based on his writings and travelogues.

On one of the History Channel shows, a historian made a comment I found interesting about Hitler. He said that if Hitler had been run over by a bus and killed a few weeks before the invasion of Poland, that he would be considered in glowing terms by modern history books as one of the best and most successful, if not THE best and most successful leader of the 20th century
There was massive cheering.
This whole jelly donut thing is an urban legend started by the NY Times.
It is not true, German grammatical nuances nonwithstanding.
