FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe tells Newsmax that Thursday’s decision by the embattled IRS to replace Lois Lerner over the agency’s targeting scandal is “clearly the tip of the iceberg” along with other administrative casualties that have been offered up thus far by the Obama administration.
“It doesn’t go far enough and whenever you see government officials lawyering up and pleading the Fifth you know that the crisis and the scandal goes far deeper than what appears to be on the surface,” Kibbe said in an exclusive interview.
On Wednesday, Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination, refusing to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which was investigating whether the division that Lerner oversaw targeted tea party and conservative groups for added scrutiny through the 2012 election and as far back as 2010.
“Clearly the IRS is in a state of crisis right now. But I don’t think this story is about any individual within the IRS and their bad behavior,” Kibbe explained. “I think the real scandal is a culture of intimidation that appears to be widespread and accepted practice within the IRS.”
Other conservative groups targeted by the IRS also told Newsmax that they too believe the scandal goes beyond Lerner.
“We need to continue the independent investigation — and I don’t believe that Mrs. Lerner is the only one responsible for it,” said Everett Wilkinson, a founder of the Tea Party Patriots.
Wilkinson, chairman of the National Liberty Federation, described Lerner’s suspension as “a first step.”
“We’re seeing that the White House knew and, perhaps, elements of the administration may have called for or promoted the idea of using the IRS as a political tool," he said. “We think this chain of abuse goes all the way up to the commander in chief.”

I sound like a broken record, but we need to just keep connecting the dots. That line will lead right to the White House. When the talk of serious prison time begins, lower-level folks will start singing.
what we need is a congressional investigation. Check the history of special prosecutors before you put too much faith in one.

NO, a select committee from Congress is our only hope of getting anywhere near the truth. Anything done through any office of this administration is corrupt, period. It will be just another fire fighter for the entire culture of corruption that is Mordor on the Potomac.
Save a few exceptions like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and somewhat Rand Paul in the Senate and the likes of Trey Gowdy, Ron DeSantis and Ghomert in the House, I have absolutely no confidence in the rest.

What’s the real story here? I read Lerner was on Administrative Leave with Pay, NOT dumped. In addition this Administration has a habit of just finding a new place in Government for their “co-conspirators”, so will it be back to the FEC for Lerner?
Two dots that need connecting are Lois and the union or its president with her. We know the Bolo list was initiated the day after the union pres visited the potus.
Is Lois a member of the union or their advisory ? Makes a big difference how we perceive this. Have they set her up to take the fall for their WH approved actions? Is she keeping quiet to save her life?
Where did this mentality of ‘I don't know or care about the rules’ come from?

She’s on “Admin leave”. Does that mean she still gets a paycheck? Also, does anyone know whether or not she has Union ties?
Carney makes it sound as though the IRS is a private company formed by a group of entrepreneurs.
If they’re union members they can’t be fired. If she is a member of the union her lawyers are provided by the union. She can be placed on paid leave but not fired while needing legal representation.
We re not looking at the big picture but focusing on her. Which is precisely what the WH wants!

This is Act II of the drama wherein Lord Obama throws sacrificial lambs to the wolves to show he is a hero and continue to distract attention from the Bengazi scandal which, if investigated would keep Lady Hillary out of the White House in 2016.
Lord Obama will play his hand to come off looking like the savior of the people and in gratitude for hs sterling rectitude they will elect Lady Hillary t be their queen.
Unless someone looks under the rug of Bengazi...
