As the investigation into the Obama administration’s handling of the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi intensifies, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are seeking to conduct transcribed interviews with thirteen top State Department officials in the coming weeks in order to learn more. Those named in the letter include a wide range of current and former State Department personnel, from senior advisers to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to mid-level career officials with responsibility for diplomatic security.
Among those officials: Jacob Sullivan, then deputy chief of staff and director of policy planning (and currently national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden); Victoria Nuland, then State Department spokesman; Raymond Maxwell, deputy assistant secretary of state for near east affairs; Patrick Kennedy, undersecretary of state for management; and Eric Boswell, former assistant secretary of state for diplomatic security.
In a letter dated May 17, 2013, Representative Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, wrote to Secretary of State John Kerry to request formally that Kerry make these current and former State Department employees available. “The State Department employees whose testimony the Committee is seeking are critical fact witnesses who are positioned to shed light on what happened before, during and after the terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of four Americans in Benghazi.”

Why the heck are they asking Kerry for permission?!? Just subpoena the witnesses and compel their testimony. If Boehner had a pair, he’d build some cells in the basement of the Rayburn building and let Issa start filling them up if the witnesses didn’t show up.

Issa ‘asked permission’ of the Secretary of State to have current and former employes appear before the Committee.
Should have said have their buts here at X time, Y day and here are the Congressional subpoenas demanding they be here.
Too many of these folks too are either fired or on admin leave and still being paid.
What were 30+ CIA operatives doing there?
Where are they now, and can we talk to them?

And kerry did say he would help the committee....as I recall.
I have no problem with your reply Ernest. It could be as simple as that. We’ll see soon enough.
It's only if they refuse that subpoenas should be considered; that being said it may be that only a select committee has subpoena power.

Finally what? Nothing has been done. No one is in jail over this. No one has admitted to wrong doing. No one has admitted to issuing the stand down order that left the 4 men to die
Finally will be when someone pays for abandoning these warriors on the field of battle and pays means tried, convicted and hung by neck until dead
All they have accomplished so far is spending more taxpayer money making nicey. It is time for Issa to take his d—k out and beat it on the table to get eveyones attention. Too much “my friend” this and that.

The real jeopardy the regime has with Benghazi is where was Waldo when it all went down.Make them lie about thatone numerous times and you have a winner.The truth=immediate impeachment.
