A desperate search is underway after a monstrous tornado wiped out a school in Oklahoma City, leaving seven students dead in a pool of water and two dozen missing. Plaza Towers Elementary school was in the direct path of the giant twister which roared through the suburbs obliterating entire neighborhoods and pulverizing a 30-square-mile stretch with winds up to 200 mph. At least 91 people have been killed and today under flood lights, emergency crews dug through debris and used jackhammers to tear away concrete, hoping to recover the bodies of up to 24 students they believe are buried under the rubble.

"Our hearts are broken for the parents': Seven children found drowned in school amid fears 24 more classmates have perished after tornado pulverizes Oklahoma City suburb killing at least 91"
Heartbreaking.
I just heard that some of the children drowned in a pool of water at the school during the tornado.
I heard a 10 little boy today, that survived.
He cannot find his parents.
One thing that annoys me is that the children were in school instead of with their parents. It’s one thing being in the arms of your parents and being separated by the winds. It’s another thing being in a school forced to fend for oneself at such an early age. A teacher is limited with what they can do to comfort and protect.
God Bless all of them.
I grew up in tornado alley in the 50s. I remember going into the center hallway and squatting down and covering my head. I don’t remember my parents ever coming to pick us up. We had no basement. The one time I was in a neighbor’s home and a big tornado hit Dallas, the mom made us hide under the bed. First she let us look out the window at the beast. I can still see it.
I followed the link to the daily mail article and looked at the pictures. One thing that always bothers me about events like this - stop taking pictures of others’ misery, put the camera down and HELP!
....And if you are not there in the area: Pray for those affected.
I am not a fan of the lock down mentality, it screams totalitarianism. I hear they are denying access to the site by parents with missing children. In a crisis I want access to my children or I will be in jail.

My Mother-in-law, born in Oklahoma, lived her entire life terrified of tornadoes. She passed that fear on to her first daughter. The other children take it in stride.
