In other news, our wonderful Austin police chief has come out with his opinion that citizens who do not agree with him are 'lying extremists with undeveloped brains'. Art Acevedo, the political hack that he is, basically insults people who disagree with his opinion that universal background checks should be mandatory. I find it rather interesting that the sheriffs around the country, who are accountable to the citizens, are generally against new gun legislation that imposes greater hardship on said citizens, while the police chiefs, who are politicians only accountable to other politicians, seem to love the idea of greater regulation. Interesting also that the chief thinks there are not enough gun laws, but has come out in favor of not enforcing laws regarding illegal immigration.
Austin media tried to say he had apologized ( http://www.kvue.com/news/Austin-Police-Chief-apologizes-for-controversial-tweet—208224661.html ), but there was no apology there, just more of a rant from a bitter little man.

Dang, I might be living there soon. Might be fun getting on the liberals nerves.
Put up a “This Is A Gun Free Home” sign on your front door and the neighbors will love you. LOL
How about a lot of signs that sound liberal but aren’t, lol.
Nah, I meant I would get a twitter account and stuff just to pester the local liberals if I go there.
Good luck. Austin needs some more conservatives.
I probably won’t make it less crazy though. lol.
“How about a lot of signs that sound liberal but arent, lol.”
When Bill Clinton visited Hong Kong a friend hung a banner from the mast of his sail boat in the harbor that said
“Bill Clinton and Chairman Mao, two great socialist leaders”
The government let it stay for a couple of hours before sending a police launch to have him take it down
The California native says he sees himself retiring in Austin or somewhere else in Texas. But he isn’t done fulfilling his dreams.
And when someone walks into his office, he has a cure for nearly everything, even whining.
“You gotta have your personalized bottle. I go, come on, take a sip,” he says.
Gadzooks! 'Take a sip' California... native?
The Peoples Republic of Austin just cannot seem to ever... get it right!
lol. Nice one!
Isn’t “Keep Austin Weird” one of the mottos?
Damned libs mess up all the nice places.
Yep. I would like to trade the Austin liberals for the dissidents of Cuba or North Korea.
Police chiefs are hired by liberal city councils and liberal mayors. That’s all you really need to know.
“My neighbors’ houses are gun-free!”
Someone needs to write to the paper with the question -
“What do the leftist gun-control people have in mind for us that requires us to be disarmed?”
I like that idea.
“I am proud to have gun-free neighbors”
I’m the one who tipped Twitchy off to Acevedo’s rants (WO4TG is the shortened version of my screen name). I saw one of my followers link to one of his rants and passed it on (also sent it to KLBJ). I hope Austinites will hold his feet to the fire.
