On Sunday, President Obama gave a commencement address at Morehouse College in Atlanta. Keep setting an example for what it means to be a man, he told the graduates. Be the best husband to your wife, or boyfriend to your partner, or father to your children that you can be.
Thats what Obama said, according to the New York Times, USA Today, Politico, and dozens of other news organizations. But Obama never uttered those words. Heres what he actually said: Be the best husband to your wife, or your boyfriend, or your partner.
Thats not a small difference in wording. Its an enormous change in the meaning of the sentence. In fact, it changes the significance of the whole speech.
How did so many reporters get it wrong? In a way, they didnt. They quoted the text of the speech as it was prepared for delivery. You can read the whole thing on the Web site of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. News organizations do this all the time. You send them the text of what youre going to say, and they post articles after the speech, telling their readers that you said it.
But this time, the speech didnt go according to script. Literally. Obama changed the boyfriend line from hetero boilerplate to explicitly gay-inclusive. He ad-libbed. And this was a heck of a time to do it. The speech was about what it means to be a man. The president of the United States, who until a year ago didnt support same-sex marriage, has just put an official stamp of masculinity on male homosexuality.

Evil, perverted, unnatural bastard.
“He ad-libbed”
No, his propagandist prepared TWO SPEECHES, one for publication by Big Media, and one for the Teleprompter.
Interesting that he tested the waters at Morehouse, which used to have a reputation for being on the more socially conservative end of the spectrum among black schools.
As Mulder would say, “The Truth is Out There”
To me those two are the same. I live in a gayish area and I know “partner” to mean homosexual partner. I was talking with an Australian woman and she kept talking about her partner. I assumed it was another woman. Then she showed up with a man! In Australia when they live with someone and not married, they call them partners. Here, that term is pretty much exclusively gay.
So I read the first one as gay too.
Perhaps he thought he was at “More Head” College.
Hoows yer daddy?
Post of the day.
Progressive New Yorkers always refer to anyone they are currently having sex with as a partner, even in traditional marriages. It’s more inclusive that way. Wouldn’t want anyone to feel “less than” or bullied.
Bwwwaaaahhhhh!!!!
If he wanted to do that, he would have had Michelle give the speech.
Those are two possibilities. A third is that he misread the speech.
ROTFLMAO .... You got me with that one...almost shot soda out of my nose
So just give the Fraud the benefit of the doubt?
A Freudian slip...
AND it isn't the first time this happened.
It's the same in the British press: even heterosexual married couples are "partners."
A Fraudian slip...
LOL!
“Fraudian” would be a much better term than “progressive” for his politics.
I am convinced that Zero is a faggot.
