To mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO), the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn on May 17 will display the rainbow flag on the Embassy building at Kentmanni 20, Tallinn. IDAHO is an annual event celebrated internationally to counter homophobia and raise awareness of the human rights discrimination faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) individuals.
Flying the flag, Ambassador Levine said, is a simple statement of our support for the LGBT community and its struggle for equal rights. Noting the substantial progress being made, Ambassador Levine added that much of the world has come to understand that sexual orientation is not a choice, that who you love is not a political statement and that personal prejudices, not matter how strongly felt, cannot be used to deny equal protection under the law. IDAHO is a day to celebrate acceptance.
This year, IDAHO will be observed in almost 90 countries. In Estonia, the Estonian LGBT union will mark the day with events in Tallinn and Tartu, including a panel discussion at 14:00 in Tallinn on the proposed partnership law. The panel discussion will be opened by Ambassador Levine.
Must we pollute other countries?
No one wants to know what you do, if you insist on telling others then you have mental problems.
I guarantee if they try that at our Embassy in Warsaw, it will get torn down.
Idiots.
Heterophobes on parade.
They need to fly it 365/24/7 in all countires that stone homosexuals....
Or would that offend “Obama Bin Ghazi”?
When American mostly obeyed God, God blessed America. Now, not so much.
Hooray, butt sex!
For the acronymically challenged...
Do they really think that prancing around on a particular day is going to convince people who don’t approve of prancing in the first place that it’s alright?
We used to be proud to just fly the American flag in our embassies overseas.
Somehow, this “transformation” to the so-called Gay Pride flag is, well, disconcerting
When do we fly the flag against Anti-Deism?
Epithelium is not mocked.
I am so tired of all this gay cheerleading. I never really cared about this subject at all before homosexual activists began to use the force of law to impose their values on everyone else. The gay mafia’s insistence on making everybody accept their lifestyle is starting to become tyrannical. There will be a bad reaction to this if they keep pushing their agenda on people who just want to be left alone.
Let them try it ANYWHERE in the Middle East, or Uganda perhaps. hahaha
What people do with consenting farm animals is none of ........
1: Disgusting that we’d fly this flag over our embassies. Our dead soldiers are turning in their graves.
2: Idaho should sue for the acronym.
3: “much of the world has come to understand that sexual orientation is not a choice”, perhaps that is the case, but that doesn’t change the fact that the world OVERWHELMINGLY rejects homosexuality as either moral or normal, spanning many religions and cultures. If only the Christians of Estonia had weathered communism as well as the Georgians. They wouldn’t let that sh&t fly.
we could have just given them the Wabasha Bridge in St.Paul.
“insistence on making everybody accept their lifestyle is starting to become tyrannical.”
Unfortunately if you look at history tyranny goes hand in hand with it. It is about domination and domination tends toward the tyrannical.
