Tornado warnings up in Oklahoma. Watches in TX, OK, KS, MO, far NW Arkansas.
News9
Multiple fatalities in the Moore area. They are not even going to try to keep a count yet.
[Sounds bad.]
Well it certainly is unusually strong. It’s an economic decision, we certainly don’t have EF4 level bunkers in our schools in Indiana.
Getting ready to go home and hunker down here in eastern Kansas. Prayers up for those children.
Hopefully after sundown..the storms will weaken a bit after dark.
It does take guts to apologize. Hang in there. This is a very disturbing event, and many of us are upset and concerned by it. I’m sure that you are as well.
The Plaza Towers Elementary School.
Because of the clay soil base in this area, most homes do not have basements. “Hidey holes” are the best protection. Most are below garages, or outside the main structure. Usually 4’ x 6’ x 6’. Not intended for long term occupancy.
They are saying that there were at least 75 people in the elementary school(Plaza Towers) that was completely destroyed..Oh My God..prayers for these babies
Be careful! We have them headed for Fort Worth now. Not sure yet how bad they are yet. Going to prepare too just in case. We have a half basement and live below a hill which gives us some protection.
The point I can make is that these parents wished their kids were at home in this event instead of wondering where their kids are in this storm.
If you’ve seen the helo vid, you have to assume potentially hundreds killed.
Back when my kids were in school I used to retrieve them when we were under a warning. At one point I had to get to 3 schools but I wanted them HOME.
No fly zone in Moore area so they can hear cries of people trapped.
I heard it initially as 75 thirds graders.
The reporter is truly shaken.
Oh dear God! I was hoping they were underground. Shep was saying that many were underground. Hopefully they are just digging them out and all will be ok.
Horses in that area are high-dollar quarter horses. Price tags are greater than $100 K each.
Praying!
They are pulling some out but apparently there were 75 in the school(A mix of children and teachers)
