The Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General published a new report Monday that confirms former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke leaked a document intended to smear Operation Fast and Furious scandal whistleblower John Dodson.
The DOJ IG said it found Burkes conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney.
We are referring to OPR our finding that Burke violated Department policy in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to a member of the media for a determination of whether Burkes conduct violated the Rules of Professional Conduct for the state bars in which Burke is a member, the IG wrote.
Burke resigned from his post as U.S. Attorney over the incident in August 2011, the first major Department of Justice official to leave his or her post in the Fast and Furious scandal. He said after the fact, in interviews with congressional investigators, that he now views leaking the document as a mistake.
In addition to Burkes involvement in leaking the document, emails the IG uncovered show senior officials at the Department of Justice discussed smearing Dodson.

And I’ll wager the Obama thugs were paid nicely for it.F&F wasn’t about gun control, that was just a possible side benefit. Drug cartels have cash. Lots of it. Follow the money, big untraceable contributions for a few firearms, and more importantly, making it easier for the cartels to do buisness here.

F&F wasnt about gun control, that was just a possible side benefit. I agree and have said that in the past. F&F wasn't about gun control but gun control was gravy. F&F wasn't about open borders but open borders was gravy. F&F was about power and money. When you get someone to break the law for you you own them and the 0bama Admin. got every agency in the FedMob to do something dirty.
The money just follows from doing favors for ultra-rich criminals. They either willingly pay a vig or you threaten them. First with a loss of "privileges" and if that doesn't work threaten them with destruction. 0bama figured he could out mob the mobsters with the U.S. gov in his pocket as enforcers.

One of those was Tracy Schmaler, the Director of the Departments Office of Public Affairs, who resigned her position at the DOJ after emails uncovered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request showed that she worked with leftwing advocacy group Media Matters for America to smear whistleblowers and members of Congress and the media who sought to investigate DOJ scandals under Attorney General Eric Holder.
Wow. Talk about conspiracy. Media Matters is the poster child for RICO. One big stinking conspiracy.
Former A.G Eric Holder public affairs chief Tracy Schmaler joins ASGK Public Strategies.
"
ASGK Public Strategies, the firm headquartered in Chicago, founded by David Axelrod and Eric Sedler, is creating a new practice group--focusing on crisis communications, litigation and issues management--and signed Tracy Schmaler, former Director of the Office of Public Affairs at the Department of Justice, to helm the operation.
Schmaler will be an ASGK Managing Director and head of the new practice group, based in Washington.
"Tracy's service in senior positions with the Obama Administration and on the Senate Judiciary Committee, as well as her time working for Silicon Valley giant Yahoo! Inc., makes her uniquely positioned to lead this specialized practice group," said Eric Sedler, Managing Partner at ASGK."
