I know theyre calling the illegal alien amnesty, comprehensive reform, but I think Schumer, McCain and Rubio might be putting a little too much confidence in the power of amnesty to reform criminals.
The eligibility criteria established for the Schumer-Rubio amnesty, S.744, are so generous that 45 percent of the criminal aliens in ICEs recent caseload would qualify for legal status, according to the Center for Immigration Studies examination of ICE records. Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with criminal convictions, and tens of thousands of aliens with arrests on top of serious immigration violations would be legalized under the provisions of the Gang of Eight bill. The proposed amnesty would significantly curtail ICE efforts to expel immigrants who have been a threat to public safety in American communities, including gang members, drunk drivers, and other offenders considered non-serious by the bills proponents.
At least its not like gang members are responsible for the majority of murders in Chicago. Oh wait
they are. But that just means we need to pass a gun amnesty that will legalize gun violence. If it works for illegal immigration, why not illegal gun violence?

Natural born Democrats.
I'll agree with that. Being responsible takes guts. They caved, or were paid ... no guts.
Will grant amnesty to 100% of those who committed vote fraud to elect Obama.
Response: The 45% figure is incorrect. Each and every alien will achieve total amnesty irrespective of their prior criminal convictions. The Democrats want votes and the corrupt Republicans are so desperate to get their buddies cheap labor total amnesty will be the result.
The Republicans are more morally culpable than the Democrats as they are willing to sell the nation and their own people to give some bucks to their buddies.
ILLEGAL does not mean a sick bird!
If someone breaks into your house, do you invite them to dine with you?
Just because they say they will take out the trash, does that make it right?
“Gang” is certainly an appropriate name for this group.
These stupid SOB’s believe they will gain Hispanic votes when in reality they are losing their base.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
In cases like this, I favor deportation by air transport. Happy landings !
no kidding. having now read enough of this bill (currently S. 744), and bending over backwards to give sen. rubio the benefit of the doubt, i can pass some informed judgement on it. Basically it can’t work the way he is advertising it. And i’m dissapointed that rubio is backing it. it’s just more of the same big government, big fail, obamacare style hodgepodge of unrelated bills and pork programs combined into a mega bill.
Frankly despite it’s title emphasising border security, it is looks similar to the previous Reagan/O’Neill Amnesty which was, of course, a disaster causing a 10X increase in the the then existing problem of aliens. With a number of pork laden and irrelevant sections (non-immigrants (duh) and employer E-verify, etc.
Its main provisions create bureaucrats who place “voluntary” disclosure requirements on existing aliens (i say voluntary because most aliens and bad employers will not comply because they will not be forced to by this bill) and “voluntary” cumbersome, liability laden requirements on lawful employers through it’s E-verify requirement. If the border traffic was completely controlled, employers wouldn’t have to do squat but turn in their IRS info as usual. As with gun registration. Lawful employers will be impacted and will probably try to comply, but the bad guy employers will just stay underground.
Most aliens will not comply because they are clearly much better off staying underground with this bill then reporting themselves to become “provisionals” and get their new “let’s exist for a while in limbo” card. And of course the criminals among them won’t report themselves, obviously. Why? Because the Feds don’t do their job in this bill. If the border were really secured. Then sitting aliens in this country would be forced out of the shadows (which rubio claims is a big driver for this bill). IMO, the only way force sitting aliens out of hiding is by securing the border and adding layered Federal Enforcement by having the Federal bureauacracy and Homeland Security use E-verify to expose the alien’s fraudulant taking of government benefits. all of which is hardly mentioned in this bill.
In short, amnesty can’t work without true, layered border security because you need to count and stablize the aliens now existing in our country as a first step (that is what this law should have concentrated on). Once you know the scope of the real problem, then you could rationally approach the question of what to do about it (amnesty, deportation, self-deportation, combinations).
I’ve sent missives to sen rubio and others explaining my suggestions for and opposition to his bill. I hope he is true to his word and considers them.
” These stupid SOBs believe they will gain Hispanic votes when in reality they are losing their base.”
They do this for a living, and they aren’t that stupid. The Chamber of Commerce, and its affiliates have bought them off.
It just keeps getting worse, doesn’t it?
First unleashing criminals on us and then giving them the RIGHT to stay here and prey on innocent American citizens.
Shows how evil this regime is.
