DAN PFEIFFER, SENIOR WHITE HOUSE ADVISOR: The point that our Chief of Staff is making is that this is the Republican playbook here which is try, when they don't have a positive agenda, try to drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped up hearings and false allegations. We're not going to let that distract us and the President from actually doing the people's work and fighting for the middle class.
BOB SCHIEFFER, HOST: You know, I dont want to compare this in any way to Watergate. I do not think this is Watergate by any stretch. But you weren't born then I would guess, but I have to tell you that is exactly the approach that the Nixon administration took. They said, These are all second-rate things. We don't have time for this. We have to devote our time to the people's business. Youre taking exactly the same line they did.
After Pfeiffer continued with evasive talking points, Schieffer again scolded:
SCHIEFFER: But Mr. Pfeiffer, and I don't mean to be argumentative here, but the President is in charge of the executive branch of the government. Its my, I'll just make this as an assertion: when the executive branch does things right, there doesn't seem to be any hesitancy of the White House to take credit for that. When Osama bin Laden was killed, the President didn't waste any time getting out there and telling people about it.
But with all of these things, when these things happen, you seem to send out officials many times who don't even seem to know what has happened. And I use as an example of that Susan Rice who had no connection whatsoever to the events that took place in Benghazi, and yet she was sent out, appeared on this broadcast, and other Sunday broadcasts, five days after it happens, and I'm not here to get in an argument with you about who changed which word in the talking points and all that. The bottom line is what she told the American people that day bore no resemblance to what had happened on the ground in an incident where four Americans were killed.
Trying to put some distance between the scandals and Obama as possible.
This Administration is doing real damage to this country, and I can’t wait until it’s gone.
I saw this poofter getting smart with Chris Wallace this morning. Wallace should have *itch slapped the boy.
While I appreicate Scheiffer for schooling this idiot WH spokes-toad; he was wrong about this....
>>>BOB SCHIEFFER, HOST: You know, I dont want to compare this in any way to Watergate.<<<<
Or maybe I’m misreading. Maybe Sheiffer was right in the sense this doesn’t compare to Watergate.
This is worse. MUCH worse.
This WH releases emails then within and hour sends out a spokesweinie to tell US that what they said is not what they meant then complains when we tell America what they said.
Amazing.
Obama is sacrificing pawns.
Yes, and rather quickly.
The MSM is coming out of the closest because THEY know nothing will be done about it
When he sacrifices the queen, it will be over.
This administration and its media allies have corruption honed to a fine art.
They're chaff intended to draw incoming off target.
Breathtaking to think that we're only a handful of months into Teh Won's second "term."
In case you missed it ping.
Nixon’s boys said the break in was nothing too... they were wrong. This IRS thing against the American people is not going to just go away... Either is Behghazi...
They have to remember that some of the older guys on the block recognize the lies from Watergate. As Obama continues to act like Nixon, the more the hair on the back of the old guys’ necks are going to stand on end. That will not be good for the Kenyan.
I gotta agree. The missing emails are already being compared to the missing 18 minutes of tape.
BS. Susan Rice knew from the get go that the talking points were BS. They had to brief her about the truth in case some reporter stumbled upon a fact that she would not have be prepared for. Susan Rice was picked for the job as the new Secretary of State, but things fell apart before she could get formally nominated and confirmed. The talking points were developed not to tell the truth, but to determine which lie would fly.
