Also saw this on FB today, some of you might recognize it as a play on the Dad's Army theme, a famous sitcom over here. Not sure if it was ever shown over there!

Local Conservative party campaigners, including the chairman of one constituency association, will this week pledge their support for Nigel Farage after one of David Cameron’s allies described grassroots Tories as “mad, swivel-eyed loons”.
Mr Farage uses an advertisement in Monday's Daily Telegraph to urge Conservative voters to back Ukip. The “loons” description, he says, is “the ultimate insult” from a party leadership that has betrayed the trust of its own supporters.
He writes in the advertisement: “Only an administration run by a bunch of college kids, none of whom have ever had a proper job in their lives, could so arrogantly write off their own supporters.”
The Daily Telegraph, which reported the comment along with other newspapers on Saturday, has not named the individual who made the remarks.
Lord Feldman, the co-chairman of the party, denied over the weekend that he had been responsible and was said to be considering legal action after internet rumours suggested he had made the comment.

Last Friday, Canada government announced in the official Canada Gazette that Canada's mint will soon unveil one-dollar and two-dollar coins made from brass-plated steel, replacing more expensive nickel cores.The new coins will be slightly lighter, Can$16 million (US$16 million) cheaper to produce and ship, and harder to counterfeit. However, the change will cost coin-operated industries up to $40 million to recalibrate vending machines to recognize the new coinage. The mining sector will also be hit as global nickel demand falls by about 539 metric tonnes per year, or 0.05 percent. The Royal Canadian Mint has produced more than one billion loonies, as the one dollar coins are called, and over 700 billion toonies, the two-dollar coins, since they were introduced in 1987 and 1996, respectively.

We obviously get the occasional .01-.25 coins down here, but had never seen the loonie/toonies before .. they're actually kinda attractive, but LOL at the nicknames !
