After all the partisan and irrational defense Eleanor ran for Bill Clinton and the media spin machine, it is amazing that Eleanor Clift is still around and being recycled. It's called "advice and consent."
The Senate confirmed these government officers, and have the right to oversee their actions. At the very least, they have the responsibility to ensure that they weren't lied to when they initially consented and confirmed them.
