It's often been said the Internal Revenue Service is the most feared bureaucracy in the United States.
Little wonder.
As the agency openly proclaims on their own website, concerning what actions they might take if your taxes are unpaid:
We could seize and sell property that you hold (such as your car, boat, or house), or we could levy property that is yours but is held by someone else (such as your wages, retirement accounts, dividends, bank accounts, licenses, rental income, accounts receivables, the cash loan value of your life insurance, or commissions).
You could even wind up in jail like Al Capone, who found that not paying taxes brought down more wrath and judgment from the government than murder.
But recent events have given Americans even more reason for fear.
Deep in the subterranean bowels of the IRS, there are electronic folders full of deeply personal, private information about nearly every American and every tax exempt organization. We now know this treasure trove of information is exponentially expanding and has been put to the use for the aims of a corrupt administration interested in crippling political opposition such as the Tea Party movement.
The harassment of the Richmond Tea Party group, which applied for tax exempt status, exemplifies the badgering many conservative groups have received over the last few years. A long letter from the IRS to the organization includes an almost impossible list of requirements demanded by lackeys who obviously invented as many obstacles as possible to prevent conservative organizations from achieving tax exempt status.
In the letter, the IRS admitted the group had already provided "thorough responses" in its 2009 application, but stated that "unfortunately, we need the following for the period of 2010 to now..." Among the plethora of demands for information from October 2010 on:(continued)

The power to tax is the power to oppress.
I don’t know what everyone is worried about, I heard it is “voluntary” taxation system.

My late Aunt babysat all these guys in her home when they were infants until they went off to kindergarten. This music video was filmed just down the street from her house in Des Moines.
And we the people have the 2nd Amendment.
>I dont know what everyone is worried about, I heard it is voluntary taxation system.
And a voluntary prison system.
You have the right to choose.
IMO the real problem is Affirmative Action hires.
When you hire Obama’s people it only stands to reason that they will support Obama.
No. The real problem is that in 1913, the 16th Amendment gave the government the power to levy an income tax, and saddled the American people with the most burdensome, intrusive and abuse-prone revenue-generating system imaginable. (It bears noting that the federal income tax is a product of the same Progressive Era of American history that gave us Prohibition.)
Given that it was imposed by constitutional amendment, one cannot argue that the income tax is unconstitutional per se. But certainly, it is at odds with the spirit, if not the letter, of many of our most basic constitutional rights.
Consider that the income tax system has the following attributes:
Notwithstanding our 5th Amendment rights against self-incrimination, as well as our 9th Amendment right to privacy (see Roe v. Wade), the government requires us to provide a tax return signed under penalty of perjury, in which we are obligated to provide detailed testimony regarding every aspect of our financial activities and relationships, legal or otherwise.
Notwithstanding our 4th Amendment rights against search and seizure, any American citizen is subject at any time -- even in the complete absence of probable cause to an intrusive federal audit in which the government has the unmitigated right to demand and search our private papers and financial records.
Notwithstanding our 5th Amendment rights against seizure of our property without due process, the government can seize and hold our financial assets indefinitely without a trial.
The complexity of the Tax Code generally requires that Americans hire professional advice, often at significant expense, to help ensure compliance.
The Tax Code is so complex that its meaning is not always clear even to experts or employees of the federal government, and its enforcement may be subject to arbitrary interpretation by federal employees who may, in fact, disagree with each other.
The income tax requires citizens to bear the burden of preparing, maintaining, storing and recovering voluminous sets of records over a period of years, where such records otherwise have no useful purpose except to assist the government in enforcing the tax code against the citizen.
The Tax Code provides our federal legislators with a means of bestowing specifically targeted benefits on favored special interests.
The 16th and 17th amendments were the two greatest progressive “successes” the progs have ever had in America.
I tried to find that statement in the article - the closest I saw was that he called the U.S. a voluntary government system and then added that of course we have to pay our taxes. More doublespeak and someone jumped the shark with the headline. I guess he may have come closer to the truth with his statement - maybe we need to reassess our tacit "consent" as the governed...

But for how long? The Federal government is stressing the supply of ammunition, by buying up ENORMOUS amounts of .40 calibre cartridges, which necessarily impacts the capacity to manufacture other forms of ammunition.
The question is, not only does this vastly reduce the availability of other ammunition, but just how much "target practice" do the various agencies of the Federal government need, and what are going to be the "targets"?
It may be a practical consideration to reconnoiter all the various depots in which these supplies of ammunition are being held, and make a determination about what contingencies to follow.

This page is about your Rights. Your Rights are inalienable (you can’t be separated from them) unless you give them away voluntarily. Reading this page will not guarantee your Rights, nor will it provide a magic remedy which stops the IRS in it’s tracks. When used properly, this page provides valuable information which should help the IRS obey the law. You can stop the IRS from taking your property (or get it back) but it takes work and study.
The price we pay for liberty is constant, never ceasing vigilance. If you’re looking for easy answers, silver bullets, magic remedies, you are in the wrong place. People end up in trouble by following the advice of an expert who has a silver bullet remedy. I have studied this subject for years and have come to one conclusion. The successful people invariably became their own experts. You should also plan to become an expert. This is a good place to start.

Love that swastika peel. Could not find a bumper sticker of it, though.
As I recall, there was a large gathering of Tea Party patriots in DC. It was March I believe but I don’t remember what year. It was so large it became difficult to actually find known FReeper attendees.
At the time there was little real press coverage and there was thought that perhaps all the points intended were not made. The change desired did not happen. The effort traveling across the nation did not sink in.
The events being related today, the IRS scandal, the AP flap, all point to the fact that Obama et al did in fact realize there was a serious problem. They reacted by putting into play plans for destruction. The March actions struck fear into their machine and they reacted by forgetting about the law or the restraints of the constitution.
The massing of angry patriots on the streets of DC on that cold wintery day precipitated the tyranical Presidential action to destroy the Tea Party effort
I have always said that no law should ever be written so that anyone with a 10th. Grade education cannot read it and understand what it says.
Laws written by lawyers for lawyers and to get lawyers rich are what we get out of Washington.
