The audience rose to its feet after Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Penn.) chided Acting IRS Commissioner Steve Miller about the Internal Revenue Service’s treatment of taxpayers at a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday.

The hearing focused on the agency’s targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, including those with names that included “tea party” or “patriot.”

“You get a letter from you folks, or a phone call, it’s with terror that you look at it, and now this kind of reconfirms that—you know what—they can do almost anything they want, to anybody they want, anytime they want,” Kelly said. “This is very chilling for the American people.” …

Calling it a “huge blow to the faith and trust the American people have in their government,” Kelly again questioned the power the IRS holds over the American people. …

just wait until it’s an R president. If this situation isn’t handled right, the next R pres will have to undo the evil that’s been done by this regime using the same - but far more severe - methods. It won’t stop at intimidating/silencing.

People will be ruined completely, accounts frozen, family members “disappeared”, jobs lost, pensions lost, etc. When the press shows any problem, their accounts will be frozen. The business they work for will have multiple OSHA violations, and will have lead in the paint at the office, and will not have sufficient handicap access. THey’ll be bankrupt. It’ll just take a few business ruined and there won’t be any more problems. What’s a few thousand lives ruined?

I can promise you that if this isn’t handled by putting people in jail for a long time, it’s only going to get worse. Not even dems want that - imo that’s why you see some trying to handle it.

Kelly noted that Miller’s resignation would not bring closure to the growing scandal. ...Calling it a “huge blow to the faith and trust the American people have in their government,” Kelly again questioned the power the IRS holds over the American people.

The only thing close to true closure is a permanent closure of the IRS including the destruction of all KGB IRS records to make certain that this beast never rises again (the FairTax requires the destruction of all personal records held by the IRS, except those required to calculate Social Security benefits).

And, the result from all this will be a possible couple of indictments that will end in acquittal or legal maneuvering.

The other thing that will happen is the same thing that happened on the last IRS debacle where the “impartial review board” was created, except that now an “Impartial Review Board of the Impartial Review Board’s” inaction will be established and filled with more Democrats.

Nice words on an outgoing official in an empty room.

Hopefully the affect/effect will awaken some dreamers to reality. Hard reality and the next right action, no matter what- is where I found Hope & Faith. May God carry us, Gaffer, well past our shortcomings.

Against my better judgement and experience of decades of seeing the same thing over and over again, I too still ‘hope’ that the master plan for all of this does have some meaning.

Please allow me to slightly edit your comment:

“I can promise you that if this FACISM isn’t handled by putting people in jail for a long time, it’s only going to get worse.”

We are beginning to battle liberal fascism, its the same fascism as Hitlers, Mussolini’s and Nikolai Cecescu’s. But we are just at the beginning of the evolution of US government towards fascism, and we MUST stop that evolution.
Obama is destroying America and its freedom , its Constitution,.

He refuses to pass a budget so he can spend where and when he wants to fund his fascist state. He makes promotions in the military so that those promoted will weaken the military. He refuses to secure our borders. He seeks to destroy the middle class while pretending to save it. He gives lip service to small business while seeking to destroy it. He uses the IRS, the FCC and other US institutions to attack Americans who disagree with Obama ideology.

If this continues America will be at physical war with the government. This is what Obama wants.

We are at demographic and ideological war with our government now.Few federal polituicians know that, or if they know they do not acknowledge it publicly.. It is true. And Congress had better act to save our nation, for if it does not, then we are lost to the dogs of civil war.

From the beginning of this mess I was saying that we should be just as afraid of abolishing the IRS: there could be a fresh new hell that fills the vacuum.

Now we know that the admission of guilt was initiated by a planted question; so I'm even more suspicious that there is a planned outcome.

Bashing the IRS will win Republicans a few elections, but don’t forget one thing: The Obama/Axelrod/media axis has a stranglehold over the low-information voters.

The low-information voters — usually low income — pay little or no federal income taxes. They often get sizable refund checks (Earned Income Tax Credits) from the government simply because they are low income.

Being low-income, they are rarely audited and have little reason to be fearful of the big, bad IRS. Moreover, they get lots of welfare benefits financed by federal tax dollars. Bottom line: Obama voters love the IRS.

Goes the other way, also. We have not had a two party system since the first Bush/Clinton/ Bush. Wake up. Protect yourself. The party is coming to a hard crash. Wake Up. The low-info voter is you. Wake up!

Yes, the low-income non-taxpayers have always been there, but as a group did not gain real political power until a liberal black president came along.

Obama got reelected easily last year even though he pushed through a law that put the IRS in charge of health care. It wasn’t nearly so easy in the past, as Bill and Hillary found out in 1994. Obama has hit the political sweet spot of ignorance and dependence.

An “R” can’t undoe it. It’s run by the unions. The workers of the world have the power of taxation. Until public employee unions are outlawed, we dont stand a chance.

What the liberals fail to realize is that for every Allende, there is a Pinochet, as you indirectly pointed out in your first paragraph. If and when that happens (and I’m beginning to believe it will), I will have zero sympathy.
