Bryzgalov is lucky he didn’t play for Stalin. He was a seive this year. Stalin would have had him shot.

“the Philadelphia Flyers goaltender said he saw logic in former Soviet Union leader Stalins actions.”
Yes, there is a lot of logic to replacing God with an iconic demagogue. There is also a lot of logic in gathering all opposition, their whole families, including elderly and newborns, and anyone remotely associated with them, and standing them in front of deep trenches to be executed en masse.

Imagine if someone said the same thing about Hitler.
He could make all the same points....Germany was in a Depression and was humiliated after WWII, there was rioting in the streets, they needed an iron hand to get them out of it, etc.

Obviously Komrad Bryzgalov never had the “pleasure” to experience the glories of life under Uncle Joe.

Yes, there were innocent people who were victims of repressions... Repressions. Interesting euphemism for murder in the double digit mega range.

If Ed Snider is still involved with the Flyers, Bryzgalov’s days with the team are numbered. Ed hates commies.

Bryzgalov has been entertaining up to this point - Google "Bryzgalov monkeys in space" - but he is at best woefully misguided regarding Stalin.

Ilya Bryzgalov praises Stalin... which now puts him only slightly to the political right of the today’s democrat party.
