James Carville: This is all over in 30 days By: Kevin Robillard May 16, 2013 11:57 AM EDT
Democratic strategist James Carville had some good news for President Barack Obama amid three controversies: It will all be over in a month.
Carville, who helped guide former President Bill Clinton through crises, on Thursday described Benghazi and the Justice Departments decision to subpoena the Associated Press phone records as non-stories to start with and he predicted the IRS scandal would fizzle out within a month.
These guys are awfully frustrated right now, Carville said, referring to the GOP. Theyre taking the anger out, and I understand that. I think the White House has just go to live with this for 30 days, get the truth out and you know, just roll with the punches here. Theyre down to swinging pretty wildly here.
The Ragin Cajun said Republicans were focused on the IRS scandal because many of their political positions are being undercut by long-term trends.
Thats what theyre down to, Carville said. Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. If there is, we should find out about it and fix it and if somebody did something wrong, they should be fired or brought to justice.

Carville is correct.
This will all be out of sight to middle America in a few weeks.
He might be right. The sheeple don’t have much of an attention span, someone might change the judging panel of “Dancing with the Stars.”
“Look! Squirrel!”
Watch for a resurgence of the Tea Party movement as a result of the IRS persecution. That will play well for GOP candidates in 2014.
Don’t forget that many people assured Nixon that it was no biggie and just a witch hunt. It actually took 2 years to get him, so it certainly can’t be considered “over” as long as investigations are going on.
They need to make sure he doesn’t seize the investigation process or announce that everything is classified (which I guess he could possibly do) in an attempt to shut things down.
Yes. If it dies down, it’s our own fault. And being so negative makes people feel that it’s not even worth trying.
I think a lot of the spewers of negativity are probably trolls.
They won by political harassment of the TEA party by the MSM and the IRS. Getting their attention was not hard, we just didn't expect them to fight this dirty, nor did we handle it well once they did. We'll see if anything can be done for 2014, I'm not sure the fall out of these new revelations will help us or them more.
The Dear Leader is counting on these defeatists to demoralize the right. What a disgusting spectacle this thread is.
Welcome to “Short-Attention-Span Theatre.” The American sheeple (those who are even aware of any of this) will forget about it by the time a} Lindsay Lohan gets caught for snorting coke while driving with no panties on; b) Duchess Kate has her baby; c) the next gay athlete comes out; or d) all of the above.
However, it seems that all you are is a partisan hack, feathering the bed you've chosen to lie in - no matter what the consequences to the rest of us. It's a pathetic way to exist James, no matter how much money you make or how many people know your name. I feel sorry for you - but even sorrier for the honest people in the USA who actually believe in liberty, honesty and doing the right thing.
One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all - not just for those who are in the same ideological camp as you.
That's absolutely incorrect. If he were stellar, we'd have seen his academic transcripts over and over again. He's not unintelligent, but what he really has going for him is that he is unfettered by self-doubt or self-examination, is convinced that his ideology is supreme, and that he has the vast majority of the media covering his back.
Unfortunately I agree with you. 0dumb0's got two insurmountable advantages....
1) He's black (well half black & half white, but that side doesn't count. Therefore he & his millions of surrogates will play the race card ad nauseum.
2) He's a liberal socialist demoRAT, and the the liberals & media & demoRATs will never allow any thing to remove 0dumb0 from office. The Repubs/GOP-e/crybaby Boehner/spineless Senate Repubs (with exceptions for Ted Cruz & Rand Paul) don't have the guts or killer instinct to go after 0dumb0.
I could also add, that so far in these 3 glaring corruptions & cover-ups that are going on (Benghazi, IRS & AP), so far not one thing has been stuck onto 0dumb0 or Hillary or Holder, even though these are the 3 bastards who are behind all of these corruptions & cover-ups. Only low-level people will lose their jobs or be demoted, and I doubt that anyone will actually be prosecuted or go to prison for any of these cover-ups.
Carville is right; the American people wouldn’t have it any other way. Obama will be held guiltless, and the American people will rejoice without the singing of hymns.
And long overdue...
Lake, I hate to differ, but I think we beat ourselves. None of the harassment you speak of stopped us from demonstrating, and that is the one thing that was actually moving the needle.
I understand that the underhanded oppression of the Tea Party from federal agencies put a damper on right-wing political activism, but that was a new front for the Tea Party, and had yet to bear fruit. We were making gains just doing what we were doing, and would have made a lot more, had we just kept it up.
I don’t know exactly when it happened but somewhere along the line, conservatives gave up. Used to be we’d be outraged, screaming in the streets, calling our worthless senators and giving em hell.
Now we all sit around and say he’s untouchable, no use, they’re going to win again and we can’t stop them.
Well not if we don’t try, that’s for sure.
We're in a war for the very existence of our nation. It's going to take a lot of courage and determination of our parts to stand firm in the face of the storm that besets us. Even more, to prevail in the end.
The incessant voices of negativity will only weaken our resolve, and make it much more likely that we will lose this fight. So why do we allow them? Any garden variety liberal would make the same sort of demoralizing statements I see regularly posted here, but they'd be shot down in an instant for trying to push the enemy line here.
I suspect that you can appreciate,as can I,the possibility that his records remaining unreleased might not be due to poor grades.Poor attendance, disciplinary problems (think Ted Kennedy),the basis upon which he gained admission (foreign exchange student?) are all possible explanations. And a poor academic record (if your suspicion is correct) can also be explained by poor attendance, drug use, etc.
He's not unintelligent, but what he really has going for him is that he is unfettered by self-doubt or self-examination, is convinced that his ideology is supreme...
Those are all features of amorality...the same amorality found in his heroes...Alinsky...Ayers...Mao..."Reverend" Wright.
In short,I base my belief that he possesses superior intelligence (raw intelligence certainly) substantially on his flawless command of English.Although I'm not an anthropologist..or an educator..or a brain scientist...I think that a command of a complex language like ours is highly suggestive of such a level of intelligence. To bolster my argument I give you William F Buckley.
Lastly...if,by chance,my suspicions are correct I firmly believe that it's vital for his opponents to recognize it because failure to do so can cause a breathtaking degree of damage to this great nation...and the world,in fact.In my mind it's far better to *over* estimate his intelligence than to *under* estimate it.
Just my 2 cents' worth....
